Excellent, courteous and welcoming host. Located in rural, scenic mountainous region. Close to Miyama’s picturesque Kayabuki-no-Sato district with historic, thatched-roof homes. We had a really lovely stay here with my daughter. The house is private and has everything we needed, including an in-house onsen, a washing machine, a full kitchen, and very comfortable beds. It made our stay easy and very relaxing. The location is in a quiet rural area in Japan, which we really enjoyed. It felt peaceful and away from the crowds. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. They even offered to drive us to a nearby village instead of letting us take the bus, which we really appreciated. They also prepared both breakfast and dinner for us, and everything was delicious. We truly recommend this place if you are looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay.6

The staff were wonderful - we had to reorganize our check-in time several times, and they were really nice and helpful. They even helped us send our luggage straight to Tokyo and were very attentive about a gluten allergy one of us has. The food was a solid 10 out of 10. We had an outstanding dinner and a traditional Japanese breakfast with all the small, beautifully presented dishes.

The house, food and the hosts simply could not be better. Exceptional and amazing Experience! From the location, house it self, hosts, food, food presentation, bath, comfortable beds - all was great. We slept like babies. Food was Michelin level and so well presented. Masanori Tanaka San and his wife are truly nice, friendly & concerned about the guest and their hospitality is commendable. We wish we could stay longer and mean to return in another season outside winter. We did go together to a local beautiful temple the next morning and had great time. Their English is great and we communicated well. I loved the traditional goemon-buro bath! So soothing and relaxing. We had more than we ever needed and I believe few nights era would har been great if we didn’t have so much more to get to in far areas as the region is absolutely pretty any time of the year. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT HOSPITALITY.

A short stay at this Ryokan was exceptional! We booked for one day and were greeted with many friendly staff members. They were very helpful in giving us directions and tour of our open bath room. We went during a slower day so was able to experience the public bath to ourselves. Our own private bath was also very comfortable and relaxing. On top of this, you must experience the traditional breakfast and dinner menu, the food was unique and quite filling! Lastly, although the location is farther from the train station, they offer free shuttles, highly recommend!
