Really relaxed but elegant and beautiful. The rooms are quiet and lovely. The robes and slippers were so nice. The staff were very welcoming and excellent.

Cristina swept us up in her exuberant hospitality the moment we walked into this old castle, and she was always there to make sure we were comfortable, happy, well-fed, and paying attention to the special features of the building: the original floors and stairs, and the paintings by the general who bought the castle originally. This inn appears to be THE place for big weddings and other celebrations in the area, and there are large rooms on the first floor to accomodate hundreds of guests, but the dining room for hotel guests is intimate and elegant. And there is a small bar by the entrance where you can have drinks and tapas. The feeling of hospitality extends to every one of the staff we met, and especially to the owner, Enrique, who personally mapped out a day trip for us to visit castles, monasteries, churches, and interesting walled towns nearby.

Located in Villamarciel, 12 miles from Valladolid Train Station, La Siesta has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking.

Everything in the room was genuinely antique but functioned perfectly ! My wife and I loved the spa bath (her first response on seeing it was, "That bath is older than I am !") but it gave a wonderfully relaxing massage experience . The underfloor heating was superb (it was February) - quite a surprise in such an ancient building . The dinner was superb - certainly the best beef ribs I have ever eaten . Breakfast was exactly what was needed - wonderful coffee, good toasted barras with tomato, freshly squeezed orange juice and doughnuts with a subtle orange aftertaste .

Venus is phenomenal! Yes, it looks a little weird... but don't let that stop you from staying here. The rooms are huge, the jacuzzi is wonderful, the bed is super comfy and the staff (although invisible) is super helpful. Great value as well. I look forward to returning.
