This is a fantastic accommodation! I booked it for my dad's birthday while cycling the Shimanami Kaido and it didn't disappoint. I knew it would be good from the reviews, but all of the finishing touches made it excellent. The towels were fluffy, the beds were comfy, and all the instructions were well explained. It's true that the accomm is quite out of the way of any shops or restaurants but we came prepared with the ingredients for dinner. The kitchen was well equipped, so it worked out very well.

Our host, Big Bear San, went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience He gave us advice on bus transport and picked us up from the highway bus stop, saving us an hour each way. He essentially acted as our guide, helped us see the Sandankyo gorge by adapting our schedule to the weather. He took us up to climb Mt. Shinnyu and showed us other beautiful viewpoints. He shuttled us out to a restaurant for dinner and cooked us breakfast on our last morning. He speaks excelled English and is an interesting and compassionate human being. One of the best experiences we had in Japan
