Beautiful views all around. Friendly staff. Good breakfast selection. Comfortable bed. Great price. Not really walkable to town but a very short drive to restaurants and activities in the area.

The room was excellent, very old-world, spacious, with big bath-tub, real glasses and cups, a plate of fruit, etc. The view is superb. It's walking distance from the gondola. It has comfortable sitting areas, ski storage, spa, restaurant, coffee bar - real hotel!

Meritxell sanctuary

This unusual modern sanctuary is a big deal in the Catholic world. It was here that a statue of the Virgin Mary appeared to locals back in the 12th century. A sanctuary was soon built to mark this apparition, but it burned down in the 1970s. The replacement structure has a contemporary style which still brings in pilgrims by the bus-load.
