Our concierge was also the sweetest person ever, and greeted us with sparkling wine and walked us to our rooms. The water pressure was fantastic and the bathrooms beautiful.

As i was staying just out of town, across the river mosel, i passed this many times and found myself just as enraptured by it each time. On the last night I got a beer in the bar opposite and looked at it in the floodlight wondering why it was so fascinating. It is very worthwhile to go inside as well; the views of trier from inside are the best introduction to the city. Just one of those buildings you cannot take your eyes off and weirdly lovable.

The hotel is located a short walk from the Porta Nigra and Trier's city centre. This makes it excellent as basis for exploring Trier and its sights.
The room was comfortable and the breakfast buffet offered a good start of the day. A car can be parked in a nearby park house, with the hotel providing a card (for a small fee of course).
As said, the centre is just five minutes by foot with all its sights, restaurants and shopping things.

The location of the hotel is excellent and the parking underground with direct elevator access to the hotel is great. Beds were very comfortable and the windows - when closed - provide great sound proofing. View on Porta Nigra was superb - especially at night with lightning. It is nice you can open the windows in multiple settings. Staff was very friendly. Bedroom was nicely appointed - although a bit dated.

The location can't be beat! You are right at the Porta Nigra Gate and directly above the Trier Christmas Market. You are easily in walking distance from all major sights in Trier. The apartment was spacious and our family of 4 had plenty of room to spread out and play games in the kitchenette. If you do book this apartment, be aware it is on the top floor, so be ready to climb stairs with your luggage. Parking was available across the street.

Perfect location in the heart of Trier just a short walk from the Porta Nigra and Cathedral. Good sized room with lots of space which isn't as typical for European hotel rooms. On site parking was a bonus. This was our second time staying here and it's the only place we'll stay when we visit Trier.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful, spacious apartment. A true home away from home. The owners anticipated every need. The kitchen was fully stocked. We were welcomed on our arrival and guided to the convenient underground parking.
They had tons of brochures and information available. Grocery store nearby. A short walk from Porta Nigra and the historic district.

The location was very close to the pedestrian area and we had a view of the Porta Nigra gate from our balcony. We appreciated that they had secured parking about a block away from the hotel. The breakfast buffet was plentiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine to help us celebrate our anniversary which was not expected but a very nice touch.

Loved this hotel. The ancient Rome carried throughout the hotel with mosaics, ruins of columns really added a feel to what the town would offer. The hotel was so conveniently located to the pedestrian area with the Porta Nigra a short 15 minute walk. Would visit and stay here again.

Hotel Porta Nigra is always a great place to stay. We have stayed here many times. Perfect location to visit the Trier Christmas market as we walk through the Porta Nigra to gate just steps from this hotel. If you drive, they have a parking lot just across the street. This time we stayed in rooms at the back of the hotel which were nice sized and very quiet and had a small kitchen area with cook top and refrigerator. It's always a pleasure to stay here.

A beautiful place to stay with everything a traveller needs or hopes for. An easy drive straight to the gates (Porta Nigra) of Trier, Germany. We highly recommend for a night or a (suggested) longer stay.

The location was excellent. It was a ten-minute walk from the train station straight down the street to the hotel, which is sitting right next to the Porta Nigra (one of the most important sites in Trier). It is also at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. Perfect for someone arriving by train, but they also have free parking if you come by car. The breakfast was also excellent with lots of options, and there is no problem getting gluten-free options. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Great value.
