The hotel is located in a very good place, just opposite the Museum and near Tahir square. It is also very easy to get to the visit places or the Metro station. The room is clean and comfortable with very nice view. The staff are really kind and helpful. Alla, Selim, and Ibrahim help me with all my questions and requests. I love staying at Elevana very much.

Just amazing. I extended my stay to visit it.

Just amazing. I extended my stay to visit it. One day was nothing like enough. The architecture on it's own is fantastic, and the artefacts have to be seen to be believed. One day was nothing like enough. Best to book beforehand, and choose your 2-hour slot. early or late is probably quietest. Choice of cafe, but no guidebook available. can be difficult to find your way around, or even your way out!

My partner and I visited this museum because the new one was closed because of it inauguration. We went in November 1st 2025. The Museum It's also known as the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, it's located in Downtown Cairo. The museum's have an extensive collection of the Pre-Dynastic Period to the Graeco-Roman Era. It includes the complete burials of Yuya and Thuya, the treasures from Tanis, and the famous Narmer Palette. We sadly don't saw the full collection of Tutankhamun's treasures, including his iconic gold death mask, because they have been relocated to the new Grand Egyptian Museum.

The new museum opened just two months before my visit in September. They were still in the process of setting up the Tut exhibit, so I was unable to see that. Even so it was easy to spend the whole day there, and there are a few restaurants inside the museum, but some of those had limited menus because they are so new.

We went to this museum because GEM was not officially opened and the Tutankhamun masks were still displayed in The Egyptian Museum. I recommend you to get a guide at least for one hour to explain you the most important pieces and then you can stay longer if you want. We found Mr. Ahmed Marei by the ticket office- very knowledgeable and passionate about the egyption history. He speaks English very well and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended! :)

Not possible to have headphones as individual tourist, only available for groups. So do your research b4 going in as private guides will swarm on you. The museum map is on the left back wall as you enter.
