The breakfast was absolutely excellent! It had it all :-D The room was good-sized with two(!) comfy arm chairs and a desk. The shower was really good with both a handheld mouthpiece and a large overhead one. There was also plenty of space for you luggage. The bed was also comfy and not too soft (I like beds tending towards the firm end of the spectrum). Another detail I appreciated was the main power switch for the room. It was the ordinary solution where you are supposed to insert your key card in order to activate the power. However, here there was already a card in the switch and all you had to do was to press it in a bit when you arrive, and pull it out slightly when you leave the room. No risk to forget your card, nice!

The hotel’s location was excellent. Close to the city center and within easy walking distance of the metro. FAQs about hotels in Oslo

Into the Wild in Oslo

Spreading for hundreds of miles from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.

For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.

From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.

LOVELY city. Lovelier than the city is the Norwegians! Very kind, friendly, helpful and sweet people. Everyone we encountered spoke English. And, not average, but excellent English. The cleanliness of the city is impressive. Lots of public spaces with wide and spacious design. Beautiful parks. Mostly modern style architecture. I highly recommend to visit Oslo.

Oslo is well worth a visit.

Oslo is well worth a visit. It has the best harbour development I have ever seen, apartment bulidings of high quality, bars, restaurants and some retail stores. The harbour area is the centrepiece of the city but there were other areas such as parks and buildings of interest, museums, most notably the beautiful MUNCH Gallery. It is an expensive city and anyone planning a visit needs to be aware of this. Once you are aware and have accepted this you will find it a safe, clean, attractive loation for a short stay.

Very nice and pleasant city, full of greenery.

Very nice and pleasant city, full of greenery. Nice and friendly people, who cannot make proper coffee though :-). Everyone speaks excellent English. Plenty of museums and galleries to see. Everything in reachable distance, very well working public transport, relatively cheap (34 EUR for one week ticket for Zone 1 = city center, and even ferries to islands). Great weather - during the whole stay there was 30 degrees, and plenty of sun :-) Quite expensive food, plenty of groceries and great bakeries. Very pleasant promenades alongside the seaside.

For years I've been hearing that Oslo is too boring a place to visit. Now I can speak from my experience and say that it is not quite true. Yes, the area close to the train station may overwhelm you with noise and a lot of construction going on but the further away you move, the more interesting things you notice. I loved making these discoveries here and there while walking. For example, I've read about Damstredet somewhere, then completely forgot about it, and then discovered it by chance. In general, the city vibe is quite welcoming. If you're a fan of museums, there are a few to visit. There is also a botanical garden. Various Oslofjord cruises are plenty, and my opinion is to probably go with the the cheapest one. I've also tried a couple of restaurants (rated 4+) and the food and drinks were great, although expensive.

Beautiful city, very clean, lots to see. In a day and a half, We went to Munch Museum, Vigeland gardens, Folk Museum and drove around the city to see the Oslo highlights. We ate dinner at the Egon Restaurant near the Karl Johan Hotel that was very good.

Oslo is an interesting city with many restaurants and other activities to explore. There are too many to address here. But when booking hotel, consider stay away from Comfort Hotel Børsparken which may end up in a complete disaster and not what you may expect based on marketing and advertising promises that may obscure true representation.

Everything was fantastic. Firstly, the staff, so nice and helpful. The location is fantastic, close to the city centre, quiet and peaceful. We're avid walkers so it was nice walk for us to get to the city center, if you prefer to get there on the public transport, you've got multiple options nearby. The hotel is clean, the beds are comfy, there's a lot of kitchen equipment. There's a supermarket downstairs that is open 7:00-22:00 so you can do the groceries whenever you want.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It is close to the city centre, you can do everything on a walk distance or just by taking a tram (many options in front of the hotel). The breakfast had sooo many options and everything was super fresh and delicious. The staff was as well super kind. My room was very spacious, cozy and it was very clean. I would stay there again!

One of the cheapest options to stay in Oslo, so you need to be prepared that it’s not a 5-star hotel. It’s good value for money. I liked the location. It’s close to the city center as well as the bus and train station. The bed was extra comfortable. I loved the pillows.
