What's not to like? Jessica and Elizabeth were wonderful hosts. The jungle sounds are comforting and civilization feels far away. We stayed an extra night to enjoy it again.

Exceeded all expectations. Thank you to the staff for all their help. Beautiful well maintained grounds. We saw more animals in the yard than in a national park. Lots of hummingbirds, a raccoon came between 10am and 11, and a family of Capuchin monkeys came every day around 2pm. It was a lot of fun to watch them.

Playa Negra Guest house is located in Cahuita, right in front of the black beach. All units are different, but all of them provide comfort, privacity and garden view featuring wildlife.

The location is serene, beautiful, quiet and directly across from the beach. Yellow cottage was fantastic with the big covered porch. The owners Marise and Peter wonderful and so helpful with taxi, tours. It is like a nature preserve.

Can’t wait to return! The Hosts and staff were so welcoming and friendly, we enjoyed our stay so much. It was great to have our own mini kitchen for cooking food (stove, fridge, sink, dishes). We loved the hammocks, the pool, pickleball court and gazebo for yoga. Short drive to the beach in Cahuita. We listened to birds and howler monkeys every day on out porch and saw lots of cute lizards. Great place to get away and relax in nature.

We loved the location just minutes to the beach and restaurants, but super private and surrounded by a lush garden full of birds, cool frogs, the sound howler monkeys in the morning, and agoutis. The hammock and table and chairs on our large patio allowed us to enjoy the outdoors.

We like this place so much that we have returned since first being here two years ago. Marice and Luciano are wonderful hosts. Their property is a jungle oasis close enough to town but far enough to be removed from any of the noise. The place is immaculate, both inside the bungalows as well as within the well tended and manicured grounds. Home to sloths and other interesting creatures. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you may need to cook your own meals. WiFi connection is strong and consistent. Ample places to park if you’re bringing a vehicle. Support staff is friendly and always smiling.
