Arawe retreat is an amazing place in Ella. It is surrounded by beautiful nature. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The food was very tasteful. We are really happy that we booked this place even though it was only for one night.

I loved this hotel so much! Great option for those who don’t want to stay in busy city of Ella. The breakfast terrace with bridge view was stunning! all greenery and mountains around! Great starting point for Little Adams Peak.

Amazing room with a stunning view and lots of extra touches which made our stay memorable. We almost didn't want to go anywhere because it was so cosy and peaceful. Loved the window seat and the overhead projector which was great for a movie night and the bathroom was very special. Really enjoyed the breakfasts on the balcony with the amazing views. Chathura and the extended staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Fabulous walk from the cabins down the stairs to the railway line.

Kamahl was very helpful, breakfasts were excellent.

Would have given this 11 out of 10 if I could. The view was incredible, room was brilliant and the owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Great, fresh breakfast as well. Short walk to the Little Adam's Peak trail and obviously very convenient if you want to visit Nine Arch Bridge.

Wow! This was such a special place to have found. It really gets you into the mountains, with a beautiful 100m walk up into the summit of a gorgeous viewpoint. (Sunrise and Sunset). The privacy was unmatched and was perfect for a couple to enjoy the beauty. The cabin is very good quality and extremely cozy for those Ella nights. Lakshan, is one of the kindest hosts you could possibly ask for! He arranged a bike for us, amazing rain gear, and also offered tuktuk rides whenever we needed them. Breakfast was wonderful and delicious every morning (whatever time you request). We stayed for 4 days but wish it could have been longer. For sure coming back! With Love, Alba and Justin

It was the coziest property! Amazing falling asleep to the rain and having breakfast with the monkeys. The accommodation is basic but gorgeous. The staff are amazing with fantastic communication and organised everything for us. We did the cooking class and tea factory tour with them and they were amazing! The best thing was their kitten who was a nice reminder of our pets at home. Can’t wait to come back and visit again!

The breakfast was good and the location was favourable as it was near the city. Owner of the property was friendly and of excellent behavior.

After a long journey, we have finally returned home from Sri Lanka. Looking back on our trip, Sri Lanka is an incredibly beautiful and warm country. The breathtaking nature was unforgettable, but what made this journey truly special was the kindness of the people. Among all the wonderful memories we made in Sri Lanka, Nishani’s family will always remain one of the most meaningful parts of our journey. The home itself is peaceful, comfortable, and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Standing at the entrance and looking out at the view, it almost felt unreal. Staying here felt like discovering a magical hidden place called Jungle Cave. It truly felt like a peaceful paradise in the middle of nature. One of the most unforgettable parts of our stay was the food prepared with so much love. Nishani’s aunt cooked some of the most delicious meals(both breakfast and dinner) during our entire trip in Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka, we learned that “mother” is called Amma, and although she was Nishani’s aunt, she truly felt like a mother to everyone. Please give our heartfelt thanks to Amma for her warmth and generosity. We would also like to thank Nishani’s uncle, whom we learned to call Bapa. He kindly helped us with travel ideas and gave us comfortable tuk-tuk rides whenever we needed to go somewhere. His kindness made our journey much easier and more enjoyable. Another memory we will always cherish is the time we spent sharing our languages — teaching a little Korean and learning Sinhala together. Those moments of laughter and connection made our stay even more special. If we ever return to Sri Lanka, we would love to visit again and this time cook a delicious meal for Nishani’s family as a small way to say thank you.
