Our stay at Arcadia Lodge was lovely and I honestly didn’t want to leave. The lodge itself is beautiful, with gorgeous kauri wood floors, a balcony that looked out on a bay, a cheerful kitchen garden, and stunning views. Peter and Greg, our incredible hosts, made the experience unforgettable. Peter’s culinary creations were a highlight of each morning—everything he prepared was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtful. From fruits harvested straight from the garden to savory crêpes, homemade crumpets, and chocolate hazelnut croissants, every meal felt like a warm hug. Greg was a wealth of knowledge, always ready with spot-on suggestions and advice for the day’s adventures, adding so much to our trip. Our room was a peaceful retreat, with a comfortable bed and a sitting room with an expansive window that quickly became our favorite spot to enjoy a cool ocean breeze, drink pots of cozy tea, and eat homemade cookies you could help yourself to at any time. The soothing sounds of birdsong and the peaceful atmosphere made every moment here feel like a vacation. Russell itself is a delightful town—quiet, picturesque, and the perfect place to unwind and soak in the beauty of New Zealand’s Bay of Islands. Arcadia Lodge and its incredible hosts made our stay in Russell one we’ll remember for a long time. If you’re looking for relaxation, delicious food, and unbeatable hospitality, this is the place to be.

My friends and were very happy with our stay at the Paihia lodge. My friend mentioned that the reality was a lot better than what she expected with cleanliness and comfort. The lodge offers a calm, respectful atmosphere and also accommodated bedding and a towel. Lovely place, staff and facilities. Thank you Andy and Lynne for a wonderful stay.

Mum and I had a lovely stay at Martin and Eddy lodge. Amazing breakfast spread, easy to find, comfortable room, pool was amazing, and a lovely peaceful getaway in Paihia! Close to town, but far enough to just relax. Great value for money. I look forward to recommending Te Awa Lodge to friends and family and hopefully returning in the future!
