After a bit of excitement finding the hotel, which is tucked into the side of a mountain, we settled into our immaculate little cabin. The property manager, Togo san, greeted us warmly and oriented us to the amenities in this beautiful spot. The cabin was charming. The tub was deep and comfortable. The bed was cozy. The mountain air did the rest; we slept like babies. It's hard to find reasonable accommodation near Mount Aso. Not only is this hotel very reasonable, it's actually a wonderful little spot. We look forward to our next visit!

I echo other reviews. The Host couple was very hospitable and obviously take great pride in this place and providing excellent service and meals. The room was very large and comfortable. Setting was very peaceful and we enjoyed the onsens after dinner. Unfortunately it was cloudy so we didn’t get to use the telescope. Make sure you are accurate with your arrival time and punctual for dinner. The dinner is many courses so needs to be prepared well in advance. They take great care in preparation and serving the dinner so being punctual is the courteous thing to do. Allow extra time as google maps seemed to provide very optimistic drive times in the area.

This is the best place I have ever stayed in OITA. The house is very nice and very cozy. It is very warm and the place is very beautiful! Even my mum and dad who do not normally say anything was very vocal how much they love the place. The owners were very helpful and very warm people too. Just a note that you cannot go here without a car because it is in the middle of the forest. But renting a car and going here was the best decision we have made for our whole Fukuoka trip!
