We had an amazing experience. We loved everything. We hope we can return. Although there is no restaurant, they prepared our dinner and breakfast and aerved it in a private room. We also loved the hot spring.

My wife & I stayed at Fulsato for one night on a Tohoku ski trip driving from Geto Kogen to Tazawako. We’ve stayed at many Ryokan on our trips to Japan and this was likely the best one. From the moment we arrived the staff was so kind and helpful. We got a room overlooking the river with our own private bath in the balcony. The other public baths were nice esp the outdoor one. The room was well thought out and immaculately clean. The best part was the food! Both the dinner and breakfast were kaiseki style and the presentation and flavors were amazing. The price was higher than we usually pay but it felt like a total value.

The residence is super clean, you have all you need, and in top of that the host Kyoko san is a very warm and welcoming person, that receives you with a smile and support you with everything you may need, from recommendations to sightseeing places or restaurants. This is an amazing place to stay. A beautiful and historic building, well appointed and incredibly spacious. Great breakfast delivered each day, shuttle from train station. Fantastic air conditioning during the summer heat wave. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
