Beautiful, new, and clean home. Wonderful owner and family. (Not sure how much English he can speak.) The location is literally a short walk from amazing Wada Beach, so it is would be great for a weekend or so just relaxing. Parking right in front of the home.

This is a real hidden gem in the quaint coastal town of Obama (no connection to the ex-POTUS!) Very peaceful, conveniently located, and exceptionally clean even by Japanese standards. Highly recommend!

Stunning, immaculate, new, architectural gem! Large, perfect for whole family. Well equipped, high end appliances. Sauna, hot tub and cold plunge pool - very fun bonus. Excellent, courteous and welcoming host. Located in rural, scenic mountainous region. Close to Miyama’s picturesque Kayabuki-no-Sato district with historic, thatched-roof homes. Recommend new Beans Cafe, Miyama - excellent coffee and food.

Oda couple and her parents were very friendly and hospitable. The meals were delicious and the setting was tranquil and quaint. We were there with a lot of snow and the 92yo grandfather cleaned our car of snow, the driveway and built a fire in the stove! We also got a brief tour of the older part of the house and they showed us old b/w pictures of the wife's childhood in the house. The bathroom was clean and new and the bathwater was nice and hot! Very quiet at night, not too far from Obama town. Thank you for welcoming us into your home!

Both the main house and the extended house where my room was were everything I’d hoped they’d be: charming, cozy, familial, warm, comfortable, and traditionally Japanese! It really was an idyllic, Studio Ghibli-esque slice-of-country-life; serene & peaceful, in touch with the surrounding nature, and people/community oriented! Yasuko-san, Aoi-san, and Syuko-san were fabulous hosts, extremely kind, happy to take part in cultural exchange (were very patient with my attempts at learning and practicing what little Japanese I had learned from Duolingo & eager to chat about the differences and similarities between our cultures and countries), and knowledgeably accommodating for my veganism (really stepped up to that challenge!)! They taught me so much about how they largely subsist off the local wild and garden cultivated vegetables, explaining how they prepared the foods I tried, their nutritional information, and I tried so many new things I’d never heard of- a delicious culinary, educational experience for sure! The surrounding area is gorgeous, like a painting stuck in time. I hope to return soon!
