An amazing guest house with three rooms, and a large common area, located at the foot of dramatic and lush hill. We managed some very nice birding just sitting in the garden. A truly relaxing setting in nature. The staff was very friendly and efficient, and the meals were delicious.

My family had the best time in Forest Nest with Saman and his wife and child. His wife cooked the best meals for us; Saman leads two tours in the SINHARAJA forest . One is a night walk that is 3-4 hours long ! The other is a day tour that is 5-6 hours long . He helped my son tremendously and didn’t charge my son at all. His family is genuinely helpful and kind. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always there when we need them . Saman is also a bird guide who took my husband on two walks to spot birds. The cabin is well-appointed and has the best view in the area ! The shower is hot and there is a fan . We stayed two nights and this is certainly NOT enough .

These kinds of homestays are the best out there: reasonable price, authentic food, real people who actually do their best to make you feel welcome. It was a great stay. I looked forward every night to sitting on that deck and hearing the nature, and being part of the village while reading my book and enjoying the view. Tons of places to plug in things, and I didn’t need to use the AC once. The hot water lasted a good amount of time, the facilities were clean, and it was such a cool place to go to. I am sure I would do it again. Those louder hotels, or where there are lots of guests, are okay and have their moments, but here I felt privileged to just have my own little room in the middle of nature. It even poured rain for a good 40 minutes and the room was bone dry. Husband Kasun and wife Thamili (I hope I spelled names correctly) have two sweet kids and are quintessential Sri Lankan -full of warmth and heart - and I totally wish these guys all the best. I think most people out there who want a place in nature and have their own little place for a few days or more will be satisfied. It certainly was worth it, and I paid much less than a high-class hotel - better than a lot of hotels I need to travel to in Canada.

Up in the hills above Pelmadulla, quiet accommodation with panoramic pool to swim and relax, enjoying the views and wildlife. Quite a find and excellent value for money. Great food, realastic cost and lovely hosts. Easy walk to a waterfall and tea plantation. Rooms were good size with views,comfortable bed and clean bathroom.
