This place is amazing. If you want to go to Wilpattu National Park, this is the perfect accommodation. We booked The Sanctuary half an hour before arriving and we were warmly greeted at the door by the owner Siraj. Siraj's passion for environmental protection is incredible. His knowledge of the ecology of the area is huge. Siraj and his team provided us with first class hospitality, beautiful food and a fully organized safari we will never forget (for a very competitive price). Extras like plentiful home grown bananas, a night tour of the grounds (seeing flying foxes and mouse deer) and free photos of what we saw on safari were the icing on the cake. It was a privilege to have stayed at The Sanctuary and we left enriched. I would not hesitate to return here in future.

A perfect location to explore Wilpattu National Park. A unique experience in the jungle in comfortable, elegant accommodation. The wildlife was amazing. Lots of monkeys, peacocks, eagles, giant squirrels. In the Wilpattu safari we also saw leopards and elephants. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated with custom made teak furniture which blended nicely with the surrounding environment. The highlight was the outdoor shower. The staff are very professional. They have lots of knowledge of the area and took us on a beautiful sunset walk down to Puttalam lagoon. Definely recommend this place.

Amazing retreat tucked away in the rain forest, with monkeys and loris all over the property! The staff was incredible, and the cottages are amazing. We felt like royalty the whole time we were there.
