Extremely friendly host to long distance JMT/PCT hikers. She greeted us with bottles of cold water and fresh fruit. They have a couple of hiker boxes and a place you can dry laundry out back. Independence is such a great stop for all hikers - a true little oasis.

Easy access to Mt Whitney. The outside decor was welcoming. The room was very clean and they provided complimentary snacks that were really good.

Clean and homey. Gentleman that checked me in was very kind.

It was nice and welcoming when we checked in. The room was very clean and big, everything worked well, refrigerator, microwave, heater, etc. We had a good experience staying there for four days.
