I had an exceptionally pleasant stay at Maison Wilhelmina. I visited Bandung because of its reputation as the “Paris of Java,” a city rich with Art Deco buildings from the 1920s and 1930s. While searching for an Art Deco hotel to stay in, I stumbled upon Maison Wilhelmina. Since it didn’t have many reviews, I was initially hesitant to book it. However, after my stay, I can confidently say this was the best accommodation I experienced in Indonesia—on every level. The hotel itself looks even more stunning than in the pictures. As an architect, I had researched the designer behind this hotel beforehand. Seeing the range of her other works heightened my excitement about visiting Maison Wilhelmina in person—and it did not disappoint. I deeply appreciated the meticulous attention to detail in the hotel’s design: from tile selections and wooden finishes to room decor, lighting, furniture, light switches, window mechanisms, and even the kitchen cookware. Everything felt thoughtfully curated, and for the most part, the construction quality was excellent. The bath area was the highlight of my stay—having books available on the shelf next to the bathtub was an absolute dream. The warmth and attentiveness of the staff made my experience even more memorable. On the first day, they were expecting my arrival, and someone greeted me at my Grab car’s door with an umbrella—such a thoughtful touch, especially since it was raining. That night, a staff member recommended the Wilhelmina “Magic Hot” coffee for the next morning, and it turned out to be an exceptional cup of coffee. The Indonesian chicken porridge breakfast I ordered was equally delightful. It was delivered to my room promptly, and even when the payment terminal had connection issues, the staff remained patient, kind, and professional. Throughout my stay, the team was incredibly helpful—not only with hotel-related matters but also with recommendations for massages, shopping, markets, and pricing for drivers.

10/10 stars across the board! This place is truly a hidden gem of a hotel. I wasn’t expecting that much given the reasonable prices, and while it’s no 5 star hotel, it was one of the best hotels I stayed in during my 3-4 months in SE Asia. My room was much bigger than most other places here. Clean as well and no smell in the bathroom. Felt like it had been redone recently because it was all new construction. Plus the little cafe in the front was very cute and served coffee and food.

If you want peace and quiet, and the feeling of close with the nature, this is the place for you. The place has everything, from the friendly and helpful staff to the sounds and smells of nature. We had a mixed feeling about the location. It’s relatively close to the Tegalluar Whoosh train station (around 30 mins by car) but quite far from the city center or Dago or Lembang area. If you want to see Bandung too, maybe it’s best to stay in two different places because it’s just more convenient. All the photos are representative of the reality. While the place is quite far from restaurants, it actually offers decent and rather affordable food and beverages. All made with TLC. Value for money was also excellent.

The Villa that we stay is so clean, spacious and staff is so friendly and efficient.

This place is amazing. We immediately felt at home. The room is super clean. The Mattress is super comfy. There is always coffee, tee and hot/ cold water right at your veranda. Also the Breakfast is amazing. The owners are super nice and helpful. The scouter they rent are in really good shape. All in all, a perfect place to stay longer.

I was hesitant to book this hotel. However, the hotel staff were able to prove me wrong! We had a very wonderful stay. The hotel staff were very welcoming from the moment we arrived until we left. The receptionist upgraded some of the rooms. The room service team was outstanding. Take immediate action for requests, and paying extra caution for cleaning. The hotel will be in my must stay again for future visits.

Very friendly and helpful staff/ host. I arrived 2 hours early but they let me into my room. The building is beautiful, well kept and very peaceful. My room was spacious and clean . They provide bottled water, tea and coffee and a good breakfast. Room service is also available if you need it. The location is also great and close to lots of restaurants and coffee shops.l do recommend this place!

The host Sutar was so welcoming from the moment I arrived. The room is so spacious and you can chill out in the terrace where you can see a beautiful view of rice fields and pond. The home cooked food was also excellent! I would definitely recommend staying here.
