Spacious and well equipped. Very friendly host

The hotel is located on top of a hill on large grounds. It has a modernized interior and is kept spotlessly clean up to its very last corner. One still feels the Jesuit heritage; in fact, the order still owns the premises, but exploitation rights have been transferred to a social enterprise in Fribourg who also uses the place for seminars and to help people in difficulties. This secularization of purpose is also the reason the original "Notre-Dame de la route" was dropped from the name. I very much enjoyed the tranquility and peace that the compound exudes. There are no frills, but everything there is works to perfection. The continental breakfast is excellent, very fresh, on a wonderfully presented buffet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended; the hotel is within walking distance to the sports center.

For us, this was a great location and exactly the kind of place we were looking for to visit our son who lives in Fribourg. While not an elegant apartment, it was perfect for what we needed. The thing that stood out as exceptional at this property was the attention to the little things that are often not present at an apartment rental. For example, there was enough coffee for a few days, plenty of soap, toilet paper, and not only cooking utensiles but basics like oil, salt and enough spices to make almost anything. That makes a very big difference. The host was easy to speak with and always responded quickly.

Amazing location and building. You are staying in a renovated 17th century castle. Be aware that the bathroom is shared, which might not be clearly mentioned on booking.com. On the flip side, it was all spotlessly clean. Staff was helpful and friendly.

The apartment was very clean and the bathroom was modern and very clean. The kitchen had all you need if you plan to prepare your own meals. The apartment furnishings are eclectic. The breakfast was very good. The hosts were very nice. The hostess spoke English. There is no air conditioning but normally you don’t need that in Switzerland.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The rooms are spacious and the staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast of warm croissants and sliced bread with honey, jams and Nutella, along with a fresh fruit salad, orange juice and coffee with warm milk. Two thumbs way up!
