The house is a stunning building, set in beautiful grounds, lit at night and looking like a fairy castle. The person manning the reception was very welcoming and friendly and went out of her way to make our stay a pleasant one.

We had a truly lovely stay with Josie and Ian. They are without a doubt the most warm, welcoming hosts we’ve ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble, and they went above and beyond in every way. The room itself was beautiful, spotlessly clean, thoughtfully decorated, and equipped with everything you could possibly need, from tea and coffee to little chocolate treats and even toothpaste capsules. The location is perfect; right by the train station and close to all amenities yet tucked away on a quiet road with parking. We were also greeted by their two gorgeous, incredibly well-behaved dogs, which made the stay even more special. Although we were visiting for a funeral, Josie and Ian, their wonderful home, and the overall warmth they showed us made a difficult trip feel so much more comfortable. It genuinely felt like staying with friends. We honestly didn’t want to leave.

The castle hotel has a gorgeous English garden. With heaps of tables and chairs to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. The breakfast buffet was handy to have in the morning, a beautiful fountain outside with a cute grass robotic lawn mower. It was fun to watch it do it's job and I liked our room especially how spacious the bathroom was. We loved our stay!
