The owners were amazing. The breakfast was great. The bed was comfy but the room was super basic for the cost.

This place is an absolute gem. My nervous system relaxed, the view is incredible. The hosts were so gracious and wonderful. I could have stayed a month here! It’s up a quiet road , and you’re away from the bustle( which is mild for the little town) but still close to what you need. I can’t recommend this stay highly enough.

I loved everything about this hostel. The location, the colors, but especially the people. Juana and Annie went above and beyond to accommodate me during my stay. They helped answer questions, make recommendations, and made me feel most welcome. They all speak very good English which was appreciated as my Spanish is very bad. They helped me book day trips. They even walked with me around the town showing me some of their favorite spots. The room was clean and large and had a fan that worked really well. The breakfast and smoothies are wonderful. Great locations right by the ferry port. I recommend this hostel 100%

The family hosts are amazing people. Very clean place, kitchen was very well stocked. The family helped us rent motorcycles right on their property for a great price and we were able to explore the entire island for the day. They were able to help us with recommendations for everything! The made our stay in Ometepe memorable!

This place is great! The value is amazing - one of the lowest prices we’ve found for a private room with private bathroom in almost 6 months of travelling in Latin America. Our room was clean and spacious, wifi worked well, there is a nice garden, and the location is good. There is a small kitchen which was a nice surprise since it wasn’t listed as an amenity on Booking. Danilo is a great host and speaks English very well. Also used him as a guide up Conception volcano and he was great. It also sounds like he has plans to invest more into the hostel so it will be even better!

I booked last minute and the host hadn’t been informed before I arrived but she was happy to welcome me and prepared the room immediately. It’s not a usual hostel and there is just one dorm room out back with basic toilet and shower outside too. I was the only guest so had the room to myself. The host is very sweet and invites you to make yourself at home. The wifi is reliable and I was able to work from the restaurant in the morning. The host made me the best gallo pinto I’ve had in Central America. It’s cheap and only 15 minutes walk from the ferry port so it’s convenient if you arrive late but it’s a bit far from the action and activities of Ometepe. The facilities are basic but clean and comfortable enough for one night and it’s a nice local family setting.

Eric the receptionist is a legend. They did my washing for cheap and we're very helpful overall. The hostel had a good vibe too!

Hostel Life is Good is a little slice of paradise on Ometepe. Roman and Barbera, and their sweet animals, have created a perfect place to enjoy, have a drink, and enjoy. As the name implies, Life is Good, and they do a great job of showing that through their care of the hostel, the guests, and the overall vibe of the place.

Sofia and her sweet daughters took very good care of me. It is a beautiful family with big smiles, and an eagerness to make sure I had everything that I needed. The food was amazing, especially the breakfast, which was always delicious. The coffee was amazing, and I must say, after eating at almost every restaurant in Moyogalpa, Sofia made the very best Gallo Pinto on the whole island.. It was a pleasure to be their guest. When in Moyogalpa in the future, El Mexican will be my first choice

Best hostel I’ve probably stayed at. Can’t even describe how nice the hospitality was. Kitchen equipped with everything. Rooms clean and comfortable. Everything we needed from the host we got right away. Highly recommended!!!!
