This was such an interesting place to stay right in the middle of the town. A lot of love and attention has been put into making your stay memorable. The gifts of food and drink on arrival was a nice surprise and the breakfast was amazing. The little courtyard was nice to look out on and a good place to store our bikes.

Although small the tiny apartment had everything you need and us very well laid out with excellent WiFi and several TV channels. Location is in the very middle of Beja center in one of the city’s very charming narrow, cobblestone paved streets.

I never managed to check in, as the Booking.com website showed the property was no longer available right after I booked. It was a same-day, emergency reservation, so I had to urgently find another place to stay. To my shock, I discovered the next day that I’d still been charged €115. I contacted the property, and they told me to speak to Booking. Booking then said the host received the payment and refused to issue a refund. Absolutely disgraceful behavior. I could maybe understand if this was a standard booking, but this was a last-minute emergency – easy money for the host for doing nothing. I can’t imagine what kind of people think that’s okay. Stay far away.

This is definitely an experience of a Portuguese house. For us it sufficed as we were here to ride. The kitchen was large & well equipped. But the rest is fairly basic. Not recommended for anyone who cannot climb a ladder to reach the bedroom! Not much going on in the town but there are some deluxe wineries in the region & Roman remains are worth the visit.
