Dylan was a fantastic host! The cabin was quaint, simple, and had everything we needed. We arrived late, but a wonderful rice and curry dinner was still prepared for us and brought up to our cabin. We were able to sleep in a bit in the morning because it is so dark and peaceful in the cabin. We had already booked a safari before finding Dylan's place, but we would have enjoyed a safari with him. He gave us a bird book for our journey. He also offers a walk in the jungle near to where they live which would have been fun if we had the time. Highly recommend staying here! The cabin on the water looks to be the cutest one, assuming mosquitos are not super active. You can always reach out and ask what's available! Oh, and make sure not to have anything remotely edible out in the cabin even in packaging. We had some tea bags and a box of coffee that a cute little mouse decided to enjoy :). Rookie mistake of ours since you are in nature, but just a pointer for others. There is a fridge in the room so keep everything in there.

It was off the beaten path. Not many tourists around so get a unique feeling. The host offered to take me to a nearby waterfall so I got a chance to speak and get to know him. I had dinner in the family home.

A beautiful retreat by the river and close to Block 5 Yala NP. Suj is a lovely guy and a fantastic cook and the servings are more than we could eat. The room is large and very clean and comfortable. You see elephants on the road not far south of the property and the whole experience there felt truly authentic. Highly recommended

Yala Thaman Katharagama is located in Kataragama, just 15 miles from Situlpawwa and 18 miles from Bundala Bird Sanctuary. The air-conditioned accommodation is 10 miles from Tissa Wewa.

Brand new bungalow with large spacious room, modern bathroom and separate pantry. The grounds were beautifully clapped, and it was a wonderful stay easy to find, and the host were very gracious he also has a small café near the rock Buddha, which was on the river with comfortable scenery and beautiful setting

Without doubt one of the favorite places we stayed! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owner (Mr. Madushan) & his father. Our room was comfortable, very clean & neat. The owner arranged our Yala safari on the same day of arrival on a short notice even though we planned to do it on the next day. The location is easily accessible which is a plus point too. The dinner also was organized as per our requirements on a short notice and it was delicious too. Next day, we had a avurudu kema table ready for the breakfast, which we enjoyed. The staff were attentive (Mr. Madushan & his wife) and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable.

This was the best hospitality we received in Sri Lanka. It is a lovely family business, located in nature and very close to the famous Budurugawala rock carvings. Shalika and his family are perfect hosts. The cabin is great and the environment is very peaceful. The beds were really comfortable and super clean. The food they served is amazing and they the ingredients are harvested by the hosts. It was an amazing experience. They also provide transportation service. Highly recommended!
