Staff were awesome thank you Steven and team for all your hospitality. The rooms were great fit for my Son and I. The tables outside designated for smokers nice touch though we don't smoke it gave my Son and I outdoor personal space. And the views of the sky over Hospital hill amazing as in photo from the balcony of our room

Super clean (even the toaster with chrome finish didn’t have a single smudge), functional layout, easy to navigate, ideal location (across the street from the McDonald’s and a gas station), super friendly staff who stayed up to welcome us despite arriving late.

The room was very clean, the bathroom was well presented and good to have a kitchenette too, which included a microwave and airfried (no elements). There is limited choice of accommodation in town, which is why I ended up selecting this motel

June and Geoff were gracious hosts and made me feel very welcome. Breakfast is generously portioned, hearty and filling. The rooms are spacious and very beautifully appointed. June's international art collection helps to provide a cultured atmosphere. I also greatly appreciated being able to dry out all of my wet kayaking clothes above the fire nightly!

Great location and home away from home. Comfortable, warm and quiet. Friendly host - Mark couldn't have been nicer, we left a couple of item behind and he posted them to us.

The villa was everything and more than what we had expected. There are spacious living areas, cosy bedrooms and an outdoor/indoor dining area that you can choose based on the weather/preference. The outdoor space was excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed the putting green and spa (which, being warmed by log fire was extra gratifying). Upon arrival at the property we were greeted by friendly and inquisitive horses, immediately feeling right at home in the countryside, despite (for us) the town being a short walk away. We used the villa for a 2 night stay on our way to Wellington from Auckland, but honestly wish we had stayed for longer, we'll definitely return at some point.

The most lovely B&B, wonderful gardens and host!

Wow! A magnificent property!! I highly recommend this property as a unique stay - whether you need to be in Taumarunui or not. It is definitely worth an addition to your NZ holiday. We had booked a Forgotten World Adventure and Omaka Lodge is only a 10/15 minute drive from the starting point in the town. It was beautiful from the moment we drove through the gates and up the long drive. The gardens and water feature reflect such care and imagination, they are a pleasure to walk around and relax in. Our accommodation itself was just magical - so luxuriously appointed and decorated. Our hosts, Chris and Scott and their two pups, were welcoming and friendly. There was an option for dinner (if pre-organised) and I would definitely take up this option if I was to stay again. The continental breakfast was superb, with home made muesli and granola as well as home baked bread and jams. Chris even got up early to make sure our breakfast was on the table by 6am as we had to be in town by 7am. This will be a highlight of our NZ holiday!!
