United StatesI chose the pousada for 1) its location, 2) the rate, 3) the likelihood of more Brazilian clients (i.e., away from the hyped-up resort type of pousadas), and 4) the reviews. The reviews mostly praised the friendliness of the staff. That was definitely a selling point. I could not agree more. The staff is excellent throughout the entire facility: polite, willing to help immediately, has a good sense of humor, and always smiles. Plus, the pousada was quiet at night for a relaxing sleep.

Breakfast was really good. The room was pretty spacious and bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location is good if you want to stay a little far from the center, but it is close to the hiking trails.

The location of the hotel is sublime - the views from our room were second to none
The staff are extremely polite and helpful, always greeting us with a smile.
The breakfast every morning was very tasty and beyond satisfying.
The art on display would take your breath away.
The owner's dog, Luna, is the sweetest and friendliest red setter to have ever lived and saying goodbye to her was very difficult.

The location is great, which is the only major upside of the hotel. Also, it's worth noting that after attempting to cancel our reservation, the managerial staff were attentive and gave us a room upgrade which at least showed understanding. The gluten free breakfast is not good, however when we requested a custom breakfast instead it was fine.

The hostel is a great place to chill out and relax. The garden - which is beautiful - was especially relaxing. I have fond memories of sipping coffee while sitting, lying or meditating in the garden. This was my first stop on my travel around the lakes region, and I really appreciated having a hostel where I could rest, recharge, and prepare for the rest of my travel. The location is also good for a first stop because it is close to the beach, the lake, and Ilha Japonesa.

Location is prefect with nice high hill view. quiet and nice environment. Staff nice welcoming and prepare coffee for us. House big and clean. If lucky, at the balcony you can observe monkey nearby.
