United StatesIn the country overlooking the valley and the town. Facilities were new and owner Sarah was super. After driving from Madrid and arriving around 3:30 we didn’t want the hassle of driving into town for dinner (town is typical rural Portugal) but every restaurant in the area delivers so we sat by the pool, had a beer or wine, jumped into the jacuzzi and waited for food. Bed very comfortable, shower great and lots of stars at night. There are not many rooms so we had the whole grounds to ourselves 😀
Plus the national park is in the vicinity for hiking the next day.

PortugalThe hotel was absolutely beautiful. I really loved the way they displayed the historic elements of wool into the decor. The pool area was lovely. We had a nice quiet room. The breakfast was plentiful and had lots to choose from. Staff was wonderful. Large parking lots of spots. We took an UBER into the old part of the city for dinner and it was only about 5€. Free bottle of water in our room was a nice touch.

And Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela was my Home Base.
The hotel was lovely, and the staff were fantastic!
The first shift Receptionist Tuesday morning was Super Helpful and lovely! Can you thank her for me? (I didn’t get her name unfortunately…)
Also, a special thank you to Luis.
We had dinner at the Restaurant Medieval.
And it was Wonderful!!!

Beautifully restored building; wonderful staff; gorgeous room; lovely swimming pool; perfect breakfast. Plus love the fact that Covilha is a 'swifts' town and the air was full of these beautiful birds :-)

Liked everything, we always stay at Puralã when in Covilhã, such an excellent hotel, convenient for the City but not too close .
