I loved that it was near a forest and pond with walking trails and a small town where I could purchase items I needed.
I loved the breakfast buffet and the thermal bath connected to the Hotel. I much appreciated a washer and dryer at the hotel to do my laundry since I could only take limited luggage from California. This is not typical for Austrian hotels. I also appreciated how quiet it was in the area of my room. No noisy guests or staff during the required quiet time 10 pm to 6 am.

First thing, the hosts were EXCELLENT! I visited during a special event (Austrian MotoGP race) so price was probably more than usual and terms were non-cancellable. The hotel was beautiful, breakfast was GREAT and dinners were also pretty darned good. They even had special parking for motorcycles. They had a fantastic gift shop with a lot of local specialities.

Lovely hotel that had a wonderful playground for kids and lots of toys for them to play with.
Could walk to a restaurant nearby. We were only there for one night. Beds were comfortable; bathroom had a great shower. Breakfast had lots of choices. We wanted to go see the Lipizzaner horses in Piber and this was a convenient location to stay at.

Not much to do here, most stores have shut down (about half...
Not much to do here, most stores have shut down (about half was empty/closed) and there is only 1 Italian restaurant open in the evening. We drove around for other restaurants without success. Some places said they were open online but we ended up in front of a closed door. We were disappointed in the options for eating here and honestly the town seems at it's end. People were very friendly though.

We stayed for 3 days to attend the Grand Prix at Spielberg.
We stayed for 3 days to attend the Grand Prix at Spielberg. It was about an hour's drive to the circuit on a picturesque route (via Reichenfels). The property owner advised against the direct route north to Zeltweg via a mountain pass. We did not spend much time in the local area but the scenery was very picturesque and the look & feel of the house is very authentic rural Styria. No internet available means you feel truly isolated. The accommodation served our purposes.

Nice place for skiing with family - blue, red and black...
Nice place for skiing with family - blue, red and black slopes. Not many visitors in the first week of March, sometimes I was alone on the hill. Well prepared slopes every day (lifts operate from 9am till 4pm). Small huts, where you can eat (soups, sausages, strudel,...) and drink (beer, tea, hot chocolate,...), while sitting outside enjoying the nature. Lifts are what you would expect in a small private ski park - mostly T-bars.
