How cost it was! Walking in to an already stoked fire and warm cottage was amazing on a cold and rainy day 😊 the wild life was an added bonus! The kids loved the wallabies, rabbits and the brightest colored birds we’d seen in Tasmania! We also loved playing the monkey game - thanks for stocking lots of fun things to do inside while the weather is a bit dreary.

Location, the house, space and property we're all fantastic. The kitchen was set up above and beyond what you'd expect from rental accommodation and was perfect for self catering. Also perfect viewing if you're lucky enough to have an aurora

The cottage is very clean and well equipped, it has everything you need. Location is also great and very close to Bruny Hotel where you could find a good restaurant. Steve is very helpful and responsive. We love the place a lot and hope to visit again next time! Thank you, Steve

The room we stayed in was the studio 1 and we enjoyed the views of the front lawn where we saw pademelons, parakeets and lovely birds. The bed was queen size and the SPA in the bathroom was a nice surprise as we didnt see that while booking the room. The room heater was working well and we had a comfortable stay even when we visited in November. The breakfast had the granola in yoghurt and freshly baked bread which was served 8:30 which was wonderful as the location didnt have many restaurants closeby.

Gorgeous setting, immaculate and tasteful interior, and a hilarious informal 4 hole golf course complete with pademelons hopping thru it. The wood-fueled hottub was wonderful to sit in in the evenings, and my adult sons loved the experience of chopping wood. Hosts and their dog were so kind and welcoming!

An amazing quiet private place. The location is stunning. We loved the cozy fire, and the outside shower. The highlight however was the fresh warm sour dough loaf in the mailbox every morning.

Adventure at the southern end of Bruny Island was a lovely idyll w ocean in the distance. Wallabies and Tassie hens ran round at dusk. Varied vegetation from the forest nearby and sounds of birds appeals to the senses

We stayed in a villa with a view to the beach. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot with good pressure and the location was ideal. If I had land back in the U.S. I'd love to have a cabin like this on it.

Over the years I've noticed Bruny island is getting more popular and busier. I recommend getting on the car ferry at Kettering early as queues form after 9am. This also maximizes your time on the island if you only going for a couple of days. Try to time your visit to the popular sites such as the Truganini lookout when the day trip busses aren't there. Allow extra time when touring South Bruny as there are lots of stops to view and take photographs along the way. If eating out such as the Alonnah pub or Mari Bruny (cafe) book ahead as tour groups will fill them.

We found Alonnah the perfect location to stay for 2 nights, we caught the 10:30am Ferry to the Island and visited all the usual spots for Oysters, Cheese and Honey, climbed the steps at the Neck and drove through Alonnah down to the lighthouse and arrived back to Alonnah and our accommodation by check in time of 2pm. We also chose this area for the Bruny Hotel for great meals. The following day was an easy 15 minute drive over to Adventure Bay for our boat cruise, which we also highly recommend.

Lunawanna is a quiet place to stay away from the main (!) tourist area - actually nowhere on Bruny is busy. :) There is a pleasant walk, either along or behind the beach and the Lunawanna cafe is a short walk. It's a great base for exploring the island as nowhere is too far a drive. We stocked up with food at Woollies in Kingston and bought bread almost daily from the famous bread fridge. It has the best, freshest sourdough ever. We enjoyed some beautiful bush and beach walks and a swim with a small shark. (The shark was an unexpected bonus).

Everything we wanted was there or close by.

Everything we wanted was there or close by. Cozy comfortable and relaxing. The dog has a wonderful time in the fenced garden and on the beautiful beaches. There are also lots of lovely walks. We can recommend the local oysters, honey ice cream and the scones and raspberry jam and cream from the raspberry farm which also has a beautiful garden. Hotel Bruny served the best battered fish I can ever remember eating. The staff in all these establishments were very cheerful and eager to please. We would definitely visit again and again for the beauty and the peace and quiet.

Barnes Bay is located 12 minutes from the ferry in a beautiful rural setting on the ocean although not too far from all the fantastic attractions the island has to offer. It's certainly a great place to stay for a holiday. Loved our time there although it wasn't long enough.

It is a great place to visit with dramatic coastal scenery, forests and places of historic interest. We went to "Premium Wines", "Hotel Bruny", Bruny Lighthouse as well as interesting places in the north of the Island.

All the way at the northern tip of Bruney island.

All the way at the northern tip of Bruney island. Peaceful quiet place, away from the main crowds of Bruny. Need to drive 30-45 min out to the other parts of Bruny for food and supplies. Advisable to plan ahead and pack your own food and drink supplies from mainland before making your way to Dennes.

It was a quiet and secluded place.

It was a quiet and secluded place. We were there in late February, so outside of school holidays; I would guess that it would be busier in peak holiday season. We enjoyed the quiet and natural beauty. The general store had a much better range of food than I had expected; you didn’t have to live off tinned baked beans!

Our first time on Bruny Island.

Our first time on Bruny Island. Alonnah was a lovely place to stay, Bruny pub was great for meals and friendly helpful staff. It was close to Adventure Bay for our 3 hour wilderness cruise. We saw the bread fridges, but didn’t partake as we already had our own.

Nice and peaceful. Spotlessly clean. Warm and comfy...wood fire was bliss. House had everything we needed. Dog loved mooching around the fully fenced garden and lying on the deck. Close drive to the pub for a lovely meal.
