The location was perfect, right on the main street but still nice and peaceful.. Everything was within walking distance. There is a nice free carpark right at the entrance. There is a ramp for wheelchairs and the hotel has a lift, so perfect for people with a disability. The hotel has a restaurant and there are also plenty of other restaurants nearby. A supermarket is opposite the carpark, so convenient. There is a kitchenette on the same floor and also a washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

There is absolutely NOTHING not to love about this place. From the moment we arrived, all staff were wonderful. The outlook of the property, the drink service, the breakfast, pool, absolutely everything was wonderful. We can't wait to go back. Little tip, shop at Barossa Fresh (it's AMAZING), visit Freeling if you are a McLeods Daughters fan. Do yourself a favour and visit this beautiful place. :)

We had a great stay at the Bauhaus Hotel, perfect place to rest our head for a night, after exploring the Barossa. In a central location in Angaston, free parking behind the property and beautiful modernised rooms. Seperate bathrooms are very clean and modern, quiet rooms despite being above the pub. Lovely street with cafes & bakeries before hitting some wine tastings. Would stay here again, highly recommended! :)

Great stay and we were very lucky to be upgraded to CabnX that was certainly much appreciated for the 43+ deg day when we first arrived. And then when the temperature cooled down, we could really enjoy the bath and sauna in the Cabn. Location is fantastic - lots of nature walks and so close to Seppeltsfield winery - so we could just walk across.

We had the most incredible stay at this cottage! To be honest, the photos don't even do it justice. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by how cozy and well thoughtout everything was. Has clearly put so much love into this space. It was spotless and made it feel like a true sanctuary.

Loved the exciting drive to the property, the serenity and isolation, the knick knacks to explore in the cottage, the gazebo was perfect for the cocktail hour. The breakfasts were generous (very delicious bacon) - way beyond our capacity to finish!

Watervale is a great place to stay.

Watervale is a great place to stay. It is home to the beautiful Watervale Hotel, which has a superb quality menu and offers extra experiences in addition to dining. It is only a 15 minute drive out of Clare and close to many wineries to visit. The Clare taxi company will come to Watervale to pick, else there is local drivers and winery tour companies who can accommodate any transport needs.

I really appreciated the historical information at various buildings + felt welcome to wander around the town on my own self-guided tour. Congratulations to everyone for the excellent effort to maintain + restore the gorgeous old buildings; it is precious. Informative + well-presented exhibition @ Mintaro Institute. Wonderful collection of churchyards + country cemetery to combine historic interest with peaceful reflection. A destination to treasure. Thank-you.

Auburn is a great launching pad for your weekend in the Clare Valley. It has a few cellar door tasting rooms, cafes and a pub on the main street so you can easily spend a day relaxing and walking the main street without having to venture further afield to the rest of the great food and wine venues in the Clare valley.

There is no village at Penwortham. It's just a few houses along a road between Auburn and Clare. I was surprised by how few people were around over the weekend. It was very quiet on Clare on Saturday afternoon.

Clare Valley Distillery was great we both like a good gin.

Clare Valley Distillery was great we both like a good gin. Maybe they should think about some sort of food as a few people that also visited at the same time as us were asking if they had any food. We also went to Paulett's wines. That was fantastic, I would recommend that. We also went to Cafe 1871 in town a couple of times and would highly recommend them. The Middle Pub (Clare Hotel) was a great country pub and worth the visit. So many places to visit so the first place should be the Clare wine & tourist info building to gather some information and map

A pity it was the Adelaide long club weekend. Only the Bon accord was able to provide meals, as well as St Just cafe. The other three pubs were either not opened or not providing meals! Dont coome during public holidays and if during school holidays, book well in advance!

Mintaro, offers a historic journey down memory lane.

Mintaro, offers a historic journey down memory lane. Many of the buildings built in the 1800's and interesting to have a morning walk and explore. Martindale Hall is only 5 minutes' drive from the township and a must-see destination. Whilst not in the center of the Clare Valley wine region, the township still offers quality tasting and food options. The Magpie and Stump Hotel is well within walking distance and offers wonderful service and food that is well priced. Wine tours are available from the township from operators in the Clare Wine region or only 5 to 7 minutes drive to some quality well known wineries to start the tasting journey.
