First impression driving up we were excited with how cute it looked amongst the landscape, so easy to find with the sms we recieved prior to arriving giving directions to the guesthouse. Parking close by for unpacking the car, the verandah is so long, tables and chairs out the front and this is where we ate our meals overlooking the gorgeous setting, I loved meeting our neighbours outside the rooms and sitting around socialising everyone was so friendly and lovely, also entertaining lots of laughs. Hosts were lovely, greeted with big welcoming smiles, checking in to make sure everything is okay allowing time to ask questions, also telling us where the best spots were to go to view wildlife ie baby water hens by the dam, they encourage walking around and exploring the property. The room was spacious and had lots of character It had everything we could possibly need, well thought out even had mozzie repelliant in the bathroom. Extra blanket, hangers in the cupboard all the creature comforts you would have at home. it is so peaceful there of a night making it easy to sleep. Breakfast being included came in a beautiful picnic basket, plenty of food to eat ie fresh croissants, freshly squeezed orange juice etc. I felt like everything our hosts did and included in our stay they put their personal touch to it ie cereal in a a cute little container instead of the box it comes in, fruit in bowls with little cute lid covers. Where they have located tables and chairs, seats throughout the gardens for guests to use and enjoy. We spent alot of time in the pool was so cool and refreshing as temps were high and to our surprise in the room in a basket was big pool towels another example of how they have thought of everything. I will definitely be coming back to stay again at The Carriages Boutique Hotel and Vineyard

The hotel is beautiful. We drove in and were treated to kangaroos lying around and beautiful grounds. The staff is very welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff did an amazing job with the surprise turndown service I had ordered. There was a slight issue with something I ordered from the hotel, but Sam, the general manager Denise right.

We had an amazing three-day family getaway in Pokolbin, and...

We had an amazing three-day family getaway in Pokolbin, and it exceeded all of our expectations. There was something for everyone—from go-karting, horse riding, aqua golf, and farm animal encounters to Hunter Valley Gardens, a breathtaking hot air balloon ride at sunrise, the chocolate factory, and even family-friendly wine tasting for the kids. The food was another highlight. We enjoyed delicious wood-fired pizza and discovered an incredible dessert bar that was honestly even better than many of the famous dessert places we've visited in Sydney. Everything was within a short drive, there were plenty of great restaurants, and the beautiful scenery made the whole trip even more special. The best part? Both of my kids said this was their best holiday of 2026 so far, and I couldn't agree more. Pokolbin is a hidden gem and a perfect destination for families looking to create unforgettable memories. We can't wait to come back!

We Love Lovedale, we always try and stay in the area.

We Love Lovedale, we always try and stay in the area. There is Gartleman Winery and restaurant which was amazing. We often eat at Jimmy Jones and we have the best crepes at Cafe Brocante ( a gorgeous property run by a young family)

Maitland is central to alot of beautiful places Area is old I like this area for op shopping from Tarro area To Raymond Terrace,Kurri Kurri to Cessnock Lovely place to walk around and have a drink And food is amazing in the area Nice old buildings and beautiful farms Doesn't take long from Sydney.

Cessnock is a great location if you are planning to do wine tastings or any other leisure activities. We also enjoy that even though is a small town there is plenty of shops and restaurants. Every time we go to Hunter valley, we stay in Cessnock.

Muswellbrook tend to be my home town soon.

Muswellbrook tend to be my home town soon. A lot of activities for the kids around the town: parks, playgrounds even there is a ten pin bowling and cinema. It is a bit unexpected to be so community focused for a small rural town. Good restaurants are available: Indian, Thai, Chinese cousins and of course traditional Aussie pubs. The prices are average, so you will be pleased of not spending too much. 2 shopping malls are also available with all 3 main Australia grocery stores, so not an issue to top up your stock before travelling further inland.

An absolutely beautiful town. Friendly people and very clean I purchased a pure wool cardigan there which I haven't been able to buy anywhere as mist shops sell acrylic. The horse capital of Australia and it truly lives up to its name. A wonderful town , 10/10

What can I say - this place is a hidden gem We absolutely loved everything about this place Me and my hubby come from busy work schedules So to come to this place was an absolute dream for us Very quite and so relaxing not to mention the games room and spa pool was an added bonus Not to mention the continental breakfast was so thoughtful- absolutely loved our stay I would so come back again and also recommend to all

We loved our stay.

We loved our stay. We had everything we needed, our room was pet friendly so we could take our dog with us, and the front desk was very lovely and super helpful, and even helped me to post something I left behind when we legt.

It was a lovely motel. with lovely clean, comfortable rooms. There was nothing that was not ideal for staying there. We will stay there again. We have stayed there twice in the last year when travelling through to Queensland

We only go for motorcycle events so not sure what else to do...

We only go for motorcycle events so not sure what else to do but the area is lovely, not much in the town but it's not far from Denman and there is a servo and the pub food across the road is fantastic. It would be a great little park to stay mid journey.
