A clean, confortable room with air conditioning that really works! Also the location was perfect - close enough to the towns to enjoy restaurants etc but calmer than being in the “city”. The horses on the dunes were very special!

So much to do in Lille.

So much to do in Lille. Great architecture, excellent shopping, and many great restaurants. Come in September to see the city-wide yard sale, attended by people from all over Europe. Must try moules frites, and the famous Merveilleux (bakery item invented in Lille and now known all over the world)

Amazing places to visit. A lot from history, and arts. A place for calmness and comfort. My whole family couldn’t get enough of the evening walks to the beach, and play by the shore. French bread and patries were delicious, and seafood! I would say it is a place I wanna visit again.

We have decided to have a short nap at the hotel on our vacation tour. We have visited the hotel at 3:30am, receptionist opened a door for us, quick check in. Spacious room for family of four. One double bed and two single. Double bed was in separate room. Each room had a tv. Bathroom was with shower and separate bath. Comfy beds, clean. Stain on carpet and broken some curtains. Car park was full at the time we have arrived, we had to park on lawn next to entrance, other cars did the same.

I love Cambrai and there is a lot to interest the passing traveller. Unfortunately there is nowhere nowadays where one can eat a decent French meal. We like the CH'ti vibe and Bea and Dans restaurant but that's it.

We really liked the café-restaurant La Favorite. It's the perfect place for lunch with mussels and fries or an afternoon tea with crêpes. Getting around Bray-Dunes is easy, and Plopsaland is just a short distance away.

A lovely town with lots of water features, being on a delta.

A lovely town with lots of water features, being on a delta. Liked walking around the battlements, eating in the hotel on the main square, the Friday market and the friendliness of the people. Liked seeing sailing at the estuary mouth of the river Aa. Liked the free bus into Dunkerque. The town is quite a long way from the beach so need a car or taxi. It's so near to the transport links from the UK so is very convenient for a short stay. But you need a car.

Bergues is a lovely town.

Bergues is a lovely town. It was carefully rebuilt after WW2, and has a canal, several excellent restaurants and even a bar-brewery in a converted abattoir! There is a full range of places to stay from a chambre d'hote to a boutique hotel - I would highly recommend Bergues for a short stay, or as an alternative to Dunkirk when catching the ferry home from France.

It's a great city with the old town containing some wonderful streets and buildings. Lots of good restaurants, many concentrated in the Rue de Gant. Two excellent museums. One thing to avoid is the old market on a Wednesday, there were only two vegetable stalls in mid-July. The zoo is also quite small with no big animals. The area(s) of interest are quite widespread so there is a lot of walking on unforgiving and unavoidable cobbles. Many more tourists than we expected, even for mid-July
