Our stay was great! We stayed in a pet friendly room on the ground level with parking right outside our room. The breakfast that was included had lots of options and was great. The location is within walking distance to many things. We would definitely stay here again.

the most amazing was the view from the room - the whole wall is window and the view of the country-side and wind mills is spectacular. the room is large and comfortable. The staff was very nice. Bonus points for real mugs and glasses in the room and real dishes at the breakfast (I mean not disposable). for the view - best will be from the upper floor, direction of the back side of the hotel.

I loved the small town vibe, along with the welcoming and friendly spirit of this quaint, sweet place! I was there to watch my son compete in the Special Olympic Summer Games and also took in some sightseeing. Enjoyed the market and Peace By Chocolate! I also squeezed in a bit of Pomquet beach in the outskirts of Antigonish!!!

Pictou is rather a small town with a pleasant waterfront area but there is not a great deal to do and only limited choice of restaurants. The main attractions is the museum and replica vessel of the first Scottish settlers. We were there is October and unfortunately this was closed and the vessel was under going renovation action. There is also apparently a very nice trail along the shore but again this was under renovation action and closed. A very pleasant little place to stroll round but one day would probably be enough.

Amherst is a wonderful small town.

Amherst is a wonderful small town. It is a good base for day tripping in Nova Scotia and much of New Brunswick. It has lots of good restaurants, interesting arts/crafts shops, other good shopping as well. For anyone who is interested in fibre arts, it is a must stop location with Deanne Fitzpatrick's rug hooking studio right downtown.

We booked 2 rooms via booking.com and we were able to finish the booking. Halfway on our trip to the hotel, they called us to advise that there’s only one room available. They booked us with another hotel which was way more expensive.

We loved the view and the host was very helpful and patient- as we were later than expected/ but the cabin was dated and needed some revisions/- beds were uncomfortable - the microwave was located in an odd location and slightly dangerous as you could bump into it with your head on the way to the bathroom- the kitchen facilities were not too clean- for the price we would have expected facilities to be a little better-

A lovely small town to wander around at the weekend.

A lovely small town to wander around at the weekend. The local beer is delicious, as is the home made ice cream. The Nook and Cranny restaurant served a great home made burger, washed down with a glass of the local ‘Hippy Dippy’ light ale from the Tatamagouche Brewery. Our stay at the Train Station Inn was very enjoyable and we would recommend staying there if you like something different. The rooms are renovated cabooses and there is a cafe/gift shop in the station building, along with a dining car that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Excellent food! There is a Saturday farmers market that also has live music. Jost vineyard is just up the road and is a lovely spot for wine tasting and lunch - the wood fired pizza is delicious! We walked up the railway trail and back, which runs along the French River and is very scenic. There is also a play park and small beach along the trail where you can stop and enjoy the view, while the kids play on the park and beach. Sugar Moon Farm isn’t too far down the road, either. All in all it’s a lovely town with enough to see and do for a couple or three days.

Egerton, Nova Scotia, is the kind of place that reminds you why rural communities are so special. Surrounded by peaceful countryside and rolling fields, it offers a quiet, unhurried pace that’s perfect for unwinding. The scenery is quintessential Nova Scotia — wide-open skies, tree-lined roads, and a patchwork of farmland dotted with friendly homes.

If you want to feel like you have come home, be warmly greeted wherever you may go, then you will enjoy visiting Antigonish. Home to St Francis Xavier University (St FX), Saint Martha's Hospital, the town is a great base from which to explore hiking, beaches and local arts and crafts in NS.

Very friendly people.

Very friendly people. The sheep farm and wool store and lavender farm were the best. Town decided to clean a septic area in front of a restaurant at lunch time! STINKY and LOUD. Ate at Harbour House Ales and Spirits.. save your money. Nook and Cranny delicious.
