"Interlaken is a wonderful place to visit and it is centrally located to visit Harder Kulm, Mt. Rigi, Luzerne, Mt Jangfrau, Glacier Express, etc. It is central hub and best connected by train to all key locations. Interlaken has Brienz and Thun lake which is stunning. One can either stay at Interlaken or Luzern for visiting all key scenic locations, but Interlaken is best connected. Drive between Interlaken and Luzern is amazing. Highly recommend this place to visit."

"A beautiful cosy place to stay in the vicinity of the mountains. I would recommend this place as I could go to Jungfrau easily. Also a day trip to Interlaken, since it is just 30+ minutes away by train. Grindelwald may not be costly when compared to Interlaken. Add another half an hour from Interlaken you can have another day trip to Lauterbrunnen. Just open the windows from any of the hotels / lodges you would see the mountains and you will stand in awe in the majesiacity of Gods creation."

"Thun is the prettiest town with so much to do. We travelled by train from Zurich and it was a great location to travel to other places during our stay. Zermatt, Bern and Montreu. It is really clean and the people are very pleasant and helpful. The lake is lovely and there are boat trips you can take too. We had nice meals out but it is expensive for dining. There was very good shopping too"

"It's a steep hill leading down to the ferry but there is a bus & a little blue train. There are restaurants around the harbour. I recommend the restaurant at the Riviera Hotel. The ferry goes to Thun & Interlaken with stops along the way. There was a children's play area by the harbour."

Everything was great. Reception, communication with them before and upon arrival. Room was perfect. The exhibition (Formel 1) and Aquarium excellent, great even for kids. Breakfast great, restaurant as well, evening bar and terrace too. Excellent service. Very good place in the heart of Switzerland, close to Jura, Bern, not far from A1 highway. Many opportunities to discover sourroundindg on a bike. Simply, exceptional !!

We came for a relaxing minibreak and it was just perfect! Location is amazing, the hotel is surrounded by the mountains, which can be admired from room windows and balcony. The main village with stores is less than 2 km away, so very close but far enough to be away from the touristic hassle. The Sunnbüel cable car is literally 2 minute walk from the hotel, so after spending a wonderful day hiking at the snowy Alps, we stepped straight to warm sauna and relaxing whirlpool, which are available for guests at any time of the day. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, the breakfast had great selection, everything was spotlessly clean, the room was cozy and spacious. We enjoyed our stay so much that we ended up staying an extra night, which the staff helped to arrange without any issues. Highly recommend this hotel!!

We loved the vibe and the location — such a beautiful spot! Honestly, when we first booked, we were a bit unsure because there wasn’t a private bathroom. But we really wanted to see Lauterbrunnen, so we went for it — and we’re so glad we did! Turns out, we had nothing to worry about. The bathrooms were super clean and well-maintained, and everyone at the hostel was respectful and chill. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again if we’re ever back in the area!

This was really a great surprise. The staff were all so so so nice and friendly, we felt really good there! From the reception, to restaurant to breakfast, everyone was super nice. The hotel is beautiful, amazing view and comfortable and spacious bedrooms. This is really the type of 3* hotels that are much better than some 5* hotels. Also, we were traveling with our 3 dogs and they were welcome there, with bowls for them. Thank you!!

Interlaken is a convenient town for the various sightseeing locations around it. It is as expected expensive to shop around and to eat in the restaurants though the lidl shop does provide reasonable prices but the shelves are bare in the evenings.

Lauterbrunnen was a great place to stay.

Lauterbrunnen was a great place to stay. Being surrounded by the mountains was amazing. It is easy to get to and from Interlaken by train- about a 20 minute ride. Getting up to Murren and then to the Schilthorn was easy with a short cable car ride and train ride to Murren and then the cable car from Murren to the Schilthorn. The restaurants were good although packed at times. I loved that the restaurants don't try to push people out for the next diners- it is very relaxed and outdoor dining was a great experience. It is not a car-free village so sometimes have to watch for vehicles that may be going a bit fast.

A beautiful lakeside town with a scenic backdrop of...

A beautiful lakeside town with a scenic backdrop of snowcapped mountains. Well serviced by Rail, bus and boat. A very clean city, with a good choice of bars, shops and scenic walks. There are many routes up to the Church that commands the landscape, or you can walk along the river and sit and watch the world go by. Bern is 20 mins away by rail in one direction and the Jungfrau region 20 mins away in the other. Also, the local residents we found to be warm, friendly and right proud people - we have a lot of love for Thun - A beautiful place to stay and visit. And their football team are good too !!

Brienz is a charming Lakeside town, with good train...

Brienz is a charming Lakeside town, with good train connections to Lucerne, Interlaken, and elsewhere in Switzerland. I based my visit around the Brienz Rothorn Railway, a mountain steam cog railway with stunning views and some great hiking trails. I got the train up and hiked down (this took around 5 hours), however there're shorter hikes and a restaurant/ gift shop at the top so you can spend time up there and get the train back down. There's a nice takeaway pizza place in Brienz called BrienzerPizza, which you can order online, collect, and eat beside lake, which I would recommend too.

Wengen is a nice peaceful place in the Jungfraujoch region.

Wengen is a nice peaceful place in the Jungfraujoch region. Being car free village, the road are empty and for pedestrian only. There are good restaurants in the village. Overall very good place to have a long stay.

Kandersteg is a wonderful, small, laid-back alpine town.

Kandersteg is a wonderful, small, laid-back alpine town. Lake Oeschinensee and its panorama trail was the highlight of the whole trip to Switzerland. Take the gondola up. Panorama trail is already a very taxing 10k in length. Don't exhaust yourself before even starting it by trying to walk from Kandersteg to the Lake. We did walk down the last segment of the return gondola trip after the Lake, which was fun.

Murren is my favorite place in the world.

Murren is my favorite place in the world. It's the perfect choice if you enjoy mountain scenery and want to experience a traditional Swiss village without quite such big of crowds like in Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen. While in Murren, you feel like you're on top of the world and somewhat isolated from the hustle and bustle of everyday life (in a good way). There are some really good restaurants, shops, and incredible hikes all right around the small village of Murren.

Town was a bit quiet due the Pfingsten's public holiday.

Town was a bit quiet due the Pfingsten's public holiday. However, when we visited on 23 May 2026 , it was also the early summer season, and we were fortunate to witness some of the tranditional events like the Alpine Horn performance, and the herding of cows up the moutain (Alpaufzug)
