"It depends on the purpose of your trip. If you just want to see the place, 3 or 4 nights may be enough for you. If you really wan to see the places plus take a break and explore more of the area, I recommend a week at least. Shili Hualang is a disappointment to me, personally. Note, one photo was taken by a staff on the glass table. The reflection is from the glass, not from the river water or a swimming pool (they do have a shallow swimming pool, open only in summer, as we were told."

This hotel is incredibly convenient, spotless, bright, and beautifully decorated. The bed is cozy, and there’s also a comfortable sitting area to relax in. One of the standout features is the free laundry area - an absolute lifesaver! On top of that, they offer a delicious Chinese breakfast. You can also rent an electric motorcycle at a very affordable price, which allowed me to explore places I wouldn’t have been able to reach otherwise. Honestly, this hotel is perfect - it easily deserves ten stars just for what I've mentioned. But what truly sets it apart is the exceptional dedication of the staff. Even more than a week after my stay, they are still going out of their way to help me retrieve the phone charger I forgot in there. They’ve stayed in touch with the hotels along my journey, ensuring I will receive it during my time on China - all while being incredibly polite, helpful, and even making the process fun instead of making me feel like a burden. Can I give this hotel 20 stars?

Beautiful and very clean hotel. Location is good, close to north railway station and to tourist attractions. The lady owner was very helpful. There was a marathon on the day we checked out and roads were closed from 8 am to 10 am, so we couldn’t get a taxi. She brought us to the railway station herself so we would catch our train. We are very thankful to her.

I loved that this hotel was smack in the middle of the beautiful karst scenery. The hotel had bikes available to rent and provided a wonderful biking route to see lush greenery, flowers, the Yulong river, ancient Chinese bridges and even a little village from the Ming era. The hotel staff was so helpful and warm. The on site restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinners. Highly recommend staying here!

The breakfast buffet was delicious with so many choices. Not to be missed! All of the food was fresh, tasty, and well prepared. Our villa was gorgeous and very well appointed. We did have a problem with our air conditioning. They offered to move us, but ultimately they were able to fix the AC in our original unit. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The property is a collection of lovely heritage stone houses and courtyards in a traditional Ming dynasty village. We had a large, two storey suite with balcony and private terrace! Warm and welcoming staff, and great food in the restaurant! Bicycles to rent, and lots of helpful advice about activities in the area.

It was one of the most memorable trips I’ve ever had.In retrospect, I’m v glad we chose the Li river resort , (which gave us an awesome view of the river n a cluster of karst mountains from our balcony ) compared to a downtown hotel. The short taxi or tuk tuk trips we’ve had to take, to go out for our activities were not a problem. I particularly enjoyed the bamboo rafting along the Yulong river, and taking in the spectacular Lie Sanjie performance .my husband n I enjoyed exploring Yangshuo on our own , and thought the the best way to do that was to hire a car an driver for the whole day, and customised our own itinerary. A very enjoyable trip

Guilin is a nice scenic place to venture with family with lots of food option, underground shopping, nature and attractions like Longji rice terrace, Yangshuo for the Karst landscape. You can plan a day trip to Yangshuo or Longji rice terrace or Didi to nearby Reed Flute cave with your family.

Very kind people, great walking tracks and amazing views. I stayed just outside of Ping'an Village, and walked/hiked most places, although there are options of private cars or shuttle busses. I hiked one day to Ping'an Village to Longhi Zhang Village and back, then the next day I hiked from Ping'an Village to Zhongliu Village and Tiantou Village, then back. There are lots of very nice viewpoints, as I went around spring festival there was also cultural exhibitions and fireworks for a few of the nights I was there. I definitely would go back and explore even more. Especially as all the people I interacted with were very kind and welcoming!

There are lots of activities to do in Yangshuo.

There are lots of activities to do in Yangshuo. Our favorite were the Ruyi peak and the Silver cave. We stayed in a village near Yangshuo where we could walk around the river. The landscape is beautiful!

The famous Li river cruise does not worth the trip.

The famous Li river cruise does not worth the trip. I have been in Guilin 30 years ago and the place was idyllic, while now the cruises start every minute with with bunches of passengers. Maybe if you want to go, stop at Yangzhou for a couple of days and take part to a one hour small floating boat trip.

UNESCO site. Beautiful landscapes. wear proper hiking waterproof shoes. Raincoat for rainy days in March. plan to spend at least 2 nights. book rides with the Hotel to facilitate the arrival process...visitors have to pay entrance fee to the Ping On village. there is a ticket office and security gate for this purpose. travel light and enjoy its natural beauty.

We absolutely fell in love with Nanning!

We absolutely fell in love with Nanning! The city is so green and full of life — everywhere you look, there are beautiful trees and parks. The food is amazing as well… delicious, affordable, and so many different flavors to try! There are so many fun things to do, especially the amusement park — it’s definitely a must-visit when you come to Nanning. We only stayed for 3 days this time, but it wasn’t enough… we will absolutely stay longer on our next visit! The only downside is the traffic can be quite crazy, especially during rush hour. If you’re not used to the cars and scooters like in China, it might feel a little overwhelming at first. But honestly, that’s just part of the city’s energy and charm. Overall, Nanning is a wonderful place to travel — green, exciting, and full of great food and friendly people. We can’t wait to come back! 🌿✨

Visit to Silver Cave, Xu Beihong former residence and 10000 mile gallery was a real joy. The kind taximan ensure that I arrive safely at the hotel in Xingping with detour to another scenic site for photo-taking.

It was as beautiful as we had expected from the photos and...

It was as beautiful as we had expected from the photos and what we heard from friends who have been there. We missed the golden colours of the Longji Rice terraces as it had just been harvested but still enjoyed walking through the village and viewing the terraces. The night cruise through the 4 lakes and 2 rivers was really worth it - 1.5 hrs long - passing brightly lit up scenic points and passing through 2 locks to get to the rivers and round the Elephant Trunk Hill which we had visited during the day. We also visited the Reed Flute Cave which was smaller scale caves but had some interesting cave formations. We explored Jingjiang Princes city which comes with a free guided tour in Mandarin only. Then went on to East-west street where we had street food. After check out we took the Li River cruise to Yangshuo. It was a 4 hour cruise with a buffet lunch. The crew made frequent announcements of all the scenic landmarks not to be missed! The highlight was the scenery that is the background for the 20 yuan note.
