Wonderful old building, lots of atmosphere within the old town. Got upgraded on arrival to a better room. The staff arranged for an english speaking guide - well worth it.

this really is a special place. An old house each room is different with a raised lang for a bed which was very comfortable. The staff were so kind and helpful.

The location is really nice, in the old city. The staff was amazing, very helpful and nice, made us feel at home. The room was clean and confortable. Breakfast was also good, american style.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure we could make the most of our short stay, even driving us with their scooters to the nearby tourist attractions to get there in time before they closed!

The location and setting was like I was in a period Chinese movie! The bed provided the best night sleep I have had in the past 10 nights in China. Crystal spoke wonderful English & gave us some great recommendations for lunch.

★★★★★ An Exceptional Stay in Pingyao Our stay at Qing Pu Courtyard was one of the highlights of our trip to China. From the moment we arrived, the owners made us feel genuinely welcome. Their kindness, warmth, and hospitality were beyond anything we expected. The hotel itself is beautiful. It perfectly combines the charm of traditional Pingyao with brand-new, modern facilities. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and the bathroom was especially impressive, featuring modern electronic controls and every convenience you could need. Breakfast was absolutely incredible every single morning. There was a wonderful variety of fresh, delicious food, and it was the perfect way to begin each day exploring the Ancient City. What truly sets this hotel apart is the level of care the owners have for their guests. When we checked out, they surprised us with a thoughtful gift bag as a farewell. Even more amazing, after I accidentally left one of my bracelets behind, the owner personally came to our next hotel to return it to me. That level of honesty and dedication is something I’ll never forget. If you’re visiting Pingyao, I cannot recommend Qing Pu Courtyard highly enough. Beautiful accommodations, outstanding breakfast, modern amenities, and some of the kindest hosts we’ve ever met. We would stay here again without hesitation. 10/10. The hotel is quite close to Datong Ancient City although many would prefer taxi than walking, a 30-minutes' walk to the entrance. The room is generally clean although show signs of age. The breakfast spread is good and the restaurant staff are friendly and helpful. The staff at the reception is also friendly, always insist that we carry a few bottles of water, provided in the lobby, with us whenever we go out travelling the city.
