I was delighted by the view from my window and porch. It’s a lovely spot, walking distance to the beach where many of the tours begin. Restaurants are close, but the outdoor kitchen and close proximity to grocery shopping made cooking meals, easy. It’s a quiet safe spot for a solo traveler.

It was our sixth trip to Costa Rica, and I can honestly say we have never met such outstanding hosts. Rocio and Carlos are exceptional. Rocio prepared delicious, healthy breakfasts and dinners every single day—so good that I happily abandoned any idea of staying on a diet. Carlos’s help with spotting wildlife was incredible, and the night walk with Bryan was remarkably productive. If there was anything negative, it’s only that our stay was too short. Two days weren’t enough, and next time we will definitely stay much longer. I also noticed a previous review mentioning limited power outlets or dim lighting. In our experience, the common area has plenty of outlets and everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. And it is definitely bird paradise.

The location is amazing with comfortable rooms (AC), a salt water pool and a protected beach steps away. We loved getting to know our fellow travelers while relaxing at the pool or beach. Additionally Nereus' friendly staff were able to provide local trips in the area, we went on a tour of the Corcovado National Park on a standard tour. The staff was able to customize days fishing and paddle boarding with the Captain Tom, who was able to tell us about everything around us. Their onside Massage Therapist/Yoga instructor, was there when we returned to help provide additional relaxation and services after our days of adventure. The food is excellent, they provide a large quantity of locally sourced food for delicious family style meals. We had a wonderful poke bowl / sashimi from that day's catch that would rival any sushi restaurant. The meals are served so you can pick your favorites and easily accommodate those with diet restrictions. Their staff is amazing and we can't wait to return.

A great spot in a beautiful location. The hotel has a great view of the surrounding scenery. We saw so much just sitting at the breakfast bar - including a hummingbird. The beach is pretty much private (apart from macaws!) and stunning. Food was great too as well as the staff. Don’t hesitate to book. Our stay was a great start to our family holiday and one we will always remember.

The individual villas provided wonderful views of the lagoon and ocean. Views from the bathroom was a bonus. Owner/hosts were very friendly and accommodating and directly supported the evening discussions. Room was quite comfortable and basic. Expect to see and hear birds of all descriptions right from your private terrace.

This place is really wonderful for a full disconnection and to recharge the batteries. We had the chance to see many animals in the garden and the room was very comfortable and spacious. The personal attention from the owner to our opinions and needs was more than expected. We come again there.

The kayak trip with Gabriel was fabulous.

The kayak trip with Gabriel was fabulous. The beaches outside of town are wonderful and the rainforest all around is beautiful. This is a more rustic part of the country and one cannot expect hot water nor tourist comforts. One comes here to be with nature.

Amazonia's Ecolodge is a true Amazon Rainforest Experience.

Amazonia's Ecolodge is a true Amazon Rainforest Experience. Highly recommend a 4WD to get here especially if it is raining. It is a 20 minute drive from Puerto Jimenez and the last section (about half a mile) can be challenging the first time around. The place is quite remote and a fun place to stay if you want to enjoy the rainforest. The cabin we stayed in was located in the rainforest on the edge of the Corcovoda NP. There is a kitchen to cook simple meals. The cabin had a refrigerator as well. You can make your own drip coffee. Meals are offered by the caretaker's family in another house downhill on the property. There is no Wifi available in the cabin but is available at the caretaker's house. Recommend having home cooked meals at the caretaker's place. Good food and friendly folks but none of them speak English. We were able to get by with very little Spanish. A guide is available on request. Guide speaks English and will come to the Ecolodge to arrange and take you on tours. We went on several tours with the local guide and were happy with the service. Saw a lot of frogs on the night walk close to the property. Overall a pleasant and out of the normal experience. If you love to stay and experience the rainforest this is the place.

A quiet, under-developed tropical destination, immersed in the rainforest. There is no town per se, just properties immersed in green. Wonderful beaches, no one around for miles. The nearest bar / restaurant is 45 min away by car on a bad road. The nearest store is in Puerto Jimenez. Patchy cell phone reception. Spectacular nature, all around: birds, butterflies, monkeys.

We stayed at the Kunken about 35 mins drive north of Puerto Jimenez but took the public ferry to/from Golfito (1100 out 1300 back). There's regular small aircraft using the small runway near the town centre, which is the way we would return, rather than the 6-8 hour drive to San Jose. We visited the Osa Botanika hotel which is beside the runway, having a nice light lunch beside the pool. We also drove to the El Remansa hotel on the southern tip of the peninsula. This was quite some experience because the access to the hotel is down a very rough track, needing a 4x4. They don't get much walk-in traffic. Guests probably fly-in and are picked up by the hotel. We had an excellent lunch then explored the rope bridges.

A gorgeous community that has retained a local Tico feel; expats and tourists are definitely in the minority. I never felt unsafe even walking alone at night. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to walk all the extensive jungle trails in Bolita and the Corcovado National Park. But, those I did walk to led me to magical waterfalls, swimming holes and amazing views. The wildlife is plentiful. I saw 3 of the 4 monkeys that live in Costa Rica and woke in the morning to the sounds of the 4th, the howlers calling in the distance. Toucans, hummingbirds and macaws are everywhere. Not to mention the incredible number of other slightly less showy birds, amphibians, reptiles and insects. Dos Brazos was an incredible find and I will definitely be back.

Puerto Jiménez served as a rest-over before going to, and when coming from a trip to Corcovado Nat'l Park. We were able to take and ride bikes from the hotel to restaurants and to look around (the walkway to the pier was torn up so we had to go the long way around and the bikes came in super handy). The staff was friendly and could answer all our questions.

Dos Brazos is a great place to explore the rainforest. There is a wealth of birds an butterflies. Public transport is limited though so if you are wanting to do activities on the beach or on the sea then maybe Puerto Jimenez is better.
