"Děčín is an ideal base for exploring the region and national park of České Švýcarsko with all of its natural and cultural attractions to be accessed by hiking, cycling, climbing, rafting, etc. Among the top destinations in the neighbourhood are the Tiské stěny (really exceptionally beautiful rock formations), the Soutěsky Kamenice (a marvellous gorge with 2 boat trips), and the Pravčická brána (the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe) although the latter is a bit over-touristic. While the town is relatively small (about 47,000 inhabitants), it has a lot of restaurants of different levels and styles, and is excellently connected to Prague and Berlin via non-stop Eurocity trains. The town itself has a small but nice historic centre, with the castle being its most important historic attraction. If you like swimming (incl. whirlpools, slides, etc.), visit the really enjoyable and inexpensive Aquapark, which also has its own hotel ("Aqua Hotel")."

"Bring your walking/hiking shoes and check the park schedule. We were here on closing weekend so it was very busy but we had a great time. We are not in great shale, the hike took us longer than the younger and more fit hikers but the scenery was beautiful and worth the sore legs the next day."

"Charming medieval Bohemian city, out of the way of most tourists. Do not miss the Gothic exhibition in the Galerie umění, featuring the altarpieces by the Master of Litoměřice. I would recommend 2 days - one for Litoměříce, and one for Terezín/Theresianstadt, just 3km away. We can recommend the excellent pizzas at Gurmánie and the designer chocolates at Bouda's."

The location of the pension is very close to the national park and some hiking trails and restaurants are nearby. The breakfast is appropriate regarding the price. Our room was on the forest site (not to the street) and it was very calm. The whole arrangement with Victoria and the staff was easy and helpful.

Perfectly located hotel for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the nature. Many possibilities to hike whichever direction you choose. Our standard room was spacious and clean, had a small balcony overlooking the forest. Spa area was a nice bonus, we enjoyed it every night. The sauna outside was a special gem together with the cold plunge pool. Free parking on premises.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Pensjon Jitřenka Hřensko! The hotel exceeded every expectation we had. Both the rooms and common spaces were spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and the fresh bedsheets made it feel even more welcoming. The views of the surrounding mountains were simply breathtaking, offering a perfect retreat in nature. What made the stay even more pleasant was the location — just one kilometer away from the main tourist street, which can get quite crowded at times. This perfect distance allowed for both convenience and a peaceful atmosphere. A special mention to Dominik, the host, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay and spoke perfect English, making everything seamless. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort and stunning scenery!

I try to avoid polarizing ratings or exaggerating, but Kemp Decin absolutely crushed it. I just wish that I was traveling with at least one other person, because the tents can very comfortably sleep 4 people. To that point, the mattresses were the perfect firmness, the pillows were huge and heavenly, and the comforters were really nice as well. The "living room" of the tents was spacious and included folding chairs, shelving, and a standing lamp. The campgrounds were quite nice, including a kitchen, bar/restaurant, and other seating/social areas. I used both the firepits and the chimneys to cook food, and had some bonfires using the wood you can purchase on site. They partner with a group that offers lots of fun physical activities in the area. I highly recommend trying out the nearby via ferrata.

Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly. Make sure you eat your dinner early - it was very difficult to find a place to eat after 8 pm. Location of the hotel was excellent, close to a bus stop and the entrance to the gorge. Hotel is one of the rustic hotels, a bit old but with its own charm.

Beautifully restored castle and old town with atmospheric restaurants, mixed with remnants of Soviet blocks and architecture. Staying in the town is super practical to access the beautiful nature reserves nearby. Quality of trains and buses are at least as good or even better than in most Western European countries. People are very kind and respectful, but English is mostly only spoken by the younger generation, German is more widely understood.

There are many places to take tours between beautiful rocks. Dresden is near, you can find good aquark for children up to 12 years old (Mariba Freizeitwelt). Hrensko near the border, prices are cheaper than in Germany

The ninth largest city in the Czech Republic, a real industrial city. With all its advantages and disadvantages... (So ​​there are messy people, but not many, they are easily avoided). The area is full of attractions, natural values, most parts of the city and landmarks can be reached by public transport (bus or trolleybus). There is a possibility to rent a bike, there are also bike paths on the banks of the Elbe, it is excellent for excursions. The city is in an excellent geographical location, with the Prague - Dresden corridor crossing the city in a north-south direction, providing good access in both directions

Lovely Old Town square with interesting buildings...

Lovely Old Town square with interesting buildings surrounding it. There is car parking in the square for convenience, but it does not fill the whole square which is good for the atmosphere. There were restaurants close by. We ate at a great place in the next street. Called Robos, it had traditional Czech food with large serves at excellent prices. It is a very convenient location for visiting the nearby fortress of Terezín.

Teplice (pronounced Teplitsa) is a spa town, with a small area of historic buildings in the centre. It is well served by trolleybuses and buses to all areas. Pivovar Monopol is a large brewpub in the main street, with at least four of its own beers on tap - lovely!

Most is in general a nice place, they have a hockey hall, a lake worth visiting, especially in summer, there is a racing track and a castle. Food as in general for Czech republic is great, I would recommend Irish pub and their famous pork knuckle and tartar. In Most, you mostly walk around the city, for visiting racetrack and lake you can use a taxi as there are plenty, the only problem is, that Most taxi drivers only speak Czech language but a bit of google translate does the job.

The center of Chribska includes a bakery, electric vehicle charging stations. Tourists come here mainly for hiking and seeing a natural landmark Panska Skala. The air quality is pretty bad during winter time (oct-apr) due to every other house using coal for heating.

Briefly: a nice place, we had a very nice stay here!

Briefly: a nice place, we had a very nice stay here! Pros: - environment (it is basically a national park), - rooms (clean, well-equipped, big), - helpful crew (invoice, earlier breakfast), - available parking space. Cons: - late (basic) breakfast time (8AM), - reception time is out of preferred time range (current: 8AM - 3PM). We visited this place due to a business trip to a nearby town, and we chose this one to have our accomodation. Though we had some minor misunderstandings, but we can say that we are pleased after all: the crew was very helpful with our issues, the rooms were perfect, the view is nice, the breakfast is okay, we also used the hotels restaurant each time we needed a nearby restaurant, and the national park around the village is beautiful.

Děčín is an under-rated destination.

Děčín is an under-rated destination. We found it to be an interesting small city with a surprising number of very good restaurants and cozy cafés and bistros. The public transportation system is excellent, as is the frequency of trains connecting the city with Prague and Dresden. The chateau right in the centre of town is splendid, and the park around it is an oasis of peace. One can rent bikes, kayaks, and canoes from several rental agencies situated along the river front, and one can paddle or cycle along the river Labe all the way to Germany.

A great launching pad for walking in the area.

A great launching pad for walking in the area. Hřensko itself is fairly basic, but with a few decent restaurants serving local dishes. Plenty of tat to buy on street stalls too if you want presumably knock-off Nike hoodies, watches where the hands fall off or a wide selection of butterfly knives. It's a base for hiking, not a place you would visit in itself. Access is easy by train and a 1 minute ferry trip across the Elbe. Schmilka is just 20 minutes walk away.
