"Bordeaux is a great place to visit. The riverside promenade, which streches for many kilomoters along the river, a is a fun place to observe local families as well as tourists. We recommend the city walking tour (book through the Tourist Information Bureau) and the Miroir d'eau is not to be missed - a visit at sunrise is worth the effort. We only had a few days during this trip and a previous visit but one could easily spend a week in the city enjoying the ambiance of the old city and many historical sites."

"Biarritz is an absolute treasure of a place to visit. It has so much on offer and if you like surfing, there are multiple places to hire boards and wetsuits as well as a large number of surf schools. We LOVED the swimming beach too and the aquarium. There are many food options for different budgets. As the weather was so nice, we got take away food most evenings and sat on the beach, watching the sun set. There are many restaurants and the brunch scene is big with lots of pretty places to choose from, I highly recommend Les Halles covered market and the little train to get a feel for where everything is. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and we are already planning our return trip!"

"Very beautiful, authentic and preserved medieval town in the Basque Country of France. The downtown area is small and bisected by a river, it doesn't get much prettier than that. The food scene is fantastic, with plenty of Basque and French options - I'd recommend Les Tontons Flingueurs, and PATXAMAMA. Also, try the chocolates there, they are amazing! (L'Atelier du Chocolat, Chocolaterie Puyodebat). The ritzy beaches and charming old town of Biarritz are just a 15-minute drive away."

"It was very hard to get to from airport due to constructions. Hotel had not provided any recommendation nor warnings about it. We wrote to ask if restaurant was open on a certain night, we were told no and when we inquired as to a recommendation so we could have dinner that night we didn't get any answer. The room was cold, we inquired about that, we were told it was limited at 22 Celsius due to energy crisis but our room was at 19 degrees. On the 1st night we realized one of the twin bed had dirty bedsheets. This is not the first time we stay at this hotel but certainly the last time."

"We were warned that Arcachon is very touristy and although there were many there (mid June), it didn‘t come across that way. Nice beach and promontory with lots of cafes and restaurants. Shopping streets including covered market were also worth visiting. Park above the downtown was beautiful. We took a train to Bordeaux for a day (50 min) which worked out very well. The nearby Pilate dunes are worth visiting. A boat outing to Cap Ferret is also recommended. We liked Le Pitt for good oysters a bit away from the beach and with fair prices."

A wonderful experience. We decided to travel to Canfranc after seeing the renovations taking place on a TV programme and also used the occasion to celebrate a Birthday. We watched the finish of Stage 7 of the Tour de France and...

We watched the finish of Stage 7 of the Tour de France and the location was within walking distance to the finish line. We enjoyed walking around to see all the old buildings and learn the history of Bordeaux. There were plenty of places to grab some lunch or dinner and the local shops were fun to visit. Everyone was really nice.

Great place for a short visit.

Great place for a short visit. We liked the architecture and feel of the place. Plenty of walking with views over the town, good restaurants and beaches of various sizes, all walkable Local ppl were v helpful particularly in the shops AC in Galleries Lafayette was so welcome and their staff were amazingly polite and helpful to us shopping and looking after our dog. We didn't visit any attractions - will do that next time We visited during a heat wave so activities were limited

A wonderful city for a family vacation, with a warm, calm sea in the bay and the rough ocean just a 30-minute ferry ride away. Beautiful pine trees, well-developed infrastructure, plenty of cafes and shops, and inexpensive oysters. It’s convenient to rent bikes and explore the surrounding area.

Bayonne felt really friendly, lots of places to eat snd drink, excellent museum of Basque life, well laid out and informative art gallery, beautiful stained glass in the cathedral. The heatwave disrupted a lot of the music festival - but Basque dancers danced nonetheless and people joined in the Basque songs. I love Sarlat it has a lovely township, a good central place...

I love Sarlat it has a lovely township, a good central place to visit other villages, rivers and walking forests. Two very busy market days Wednesday and Saturday and all the Supermarkets are very close to the township.

A beautiful seaside resort that has stood the test of time.

A beautiful seaside resort that has stood the test of time. Always a great destination with enough buzz and shopping to satisfy the most demanding of travellers, excellent food choices and of course gorgeous beaches. I have visited many times and it never disappoints.Don't forget to venture up to the chapelle de notre dame which gives a wonderful vantage point of the whole bay. A boat trip might also be nice. The bus network is very good and the city is compact enough to walk around. Maison Adam a must for macaroon from st jean de luz and you will also find an excellent gateau Basque. The restaurants near les halles are excellent too

The area is built up but still quiet, it is easy to get...

The area is built up but still quiet, it is easy to get around with public transport or like most on bicycle. Great cycling routes through out the whole area. Easy to get to Biarritz or Bayonne both worth visiting. Cycling is great and getting out in to the country side is worth it. Nice cycling along the rivers on super cycle ways. The forests are great for more excitement. I ate at Ô Chalet, Les Sable d'Or and Lujo Pizza and Coffee.

We stayed the night before hiring a car and driving to...

We stayed the night before hiring a car and driving to Arcachon. IT was ideally situated and had a good selection of rooms and services. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a hot breakfast buffet the following morning before checking out mid morning.

It's a small little town, I wish I could have stay longer.

It's a small little town, I wish I could have stay longer. It's a charming town, good people and store. Surrounded with some good vineyard just that I didn't manager to visit due to the time i have.

Great location for going to the beach 20 walk from...

Great location for going to the beach 20 walk from accommodation, reasonable rates with a good breakfast, swimming pool is within the complex to use, staff friendly and can provide information, It is not a 5 star hotel please remember, although wonderful accommodation for 1 week, weekend, or 1 night, easy to find with GPS.
