The location is picture perfect, literally. It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

Friendly, thoughtful staff. Very central for the Marina and all attractions. We have been here 3 times and each time the hotel staff have exceed our expectations, which is why we return. Huge thanks to reception staff in particular this time. We were greeted on arrival by a really friendly receptionist/manager who helped us to park our motorcycles and take our luggage to our rooms. It was our wedding anniversary and we were touched to be given cocktail vouchers to mark the occasion. We highly recommend this place. Great, well proportioned, immaculately clean and quiet rooms and a warm welcome. Perfect!

La Rochelle is one of our favourite destinations and we keep coming back almost every summer. Favourite recommendations are the wide range of amazing restaurants, the market, the harbour areas and if course a trip to Isle de Re The Aquarium is also a must and for a different feel go over to the Marine side of the harbour

Great place for a short visit. We liked the architecture and feel of the place. Plenty of walking with views over the town, good restaurants and beaches of various sizes, all walkable Local ppl were v helpful particularly in the shops AC in Galleries Lafayette was so welcome and their staff were amazingly polite and helpful to us shopping and looking after our dog. We didn't visit any attractions - will do that next time We visited during a heat wave so activities were limited

A wonderful city for a family vacation, with a warm, calm sea in the bay and the rough ocean just a 30-minute ferry ride away. Beautiful pine trees, well-developed infrastructure, plenty of cafes and shops, and inexpensive oysters. It’s convenient to rent bikes and explore the surrounding area.

Bayonne felt really friendly, lots of places to eat snd drink, excellent museum of Basque life, well laid out and informative art gallery, beautiful stained glass in the cathedral. The heatwave disrupted a lot of the music festival - but Basque dancers danced nonetheless and people joined in the Basque songs. The chocolate tradition is amazing - only the heatwave prevented us from buying more to take home !

A beautiful seaside resort that has stood the test of time. Always a great destination with enough buzz and shopping to satisfy the most demanding of travellers, excellent food choices and of course gorgeous beaches. I have visited many times and it never disappoints.Don't forget to venture up to the chapelle de notre dame which gives a wonderful vantage point of the whole bay. A boat trip might also be nice. The bus network is very good and the city is compact enough to walk around. Maison Adam a must for macaroon from st jean de luz and you will also find an excellent gateau Basque. The restaurants near les halles are excellent too

The area is built up but still quiet, it is easy to get around with public transport or like most on bicycle. Great cycling routes through out the whole area. Easy to get to Biarritz or Bayonne both worth visiting. Cycling is great and getting out in to the country side is worth it. Nice cycling along the rivers on super cycle ways. The forests are great for more excitement. I ate at Ô Chalet, Les Sable d'Or and Lujo Pizza and Coffee.

Lovely town and area with lots to explore by foot, bike or car. Not sure on the public transport links as we drove. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Friendly people. Perfect for our family (with 2 boys aged 13 and 16)

This was a total disaster!

This was a total disaster! No keys available where they informed to be. Finally in: no cleaning at all, no bed ware, rubbish everywhere. Horrible staff, not even came to see us. Spoke only French which I hardly understood. We booked another hotel for that night. We made a reclamation to Booking wanting to reemburse of our money.

The area is beautifully maintained with excellent roads and many cycle routes and forest walks. Families have the choice of the ocean or the large and safe freshwater lakes. Very popular in high summer so book early or be prepared to be a little further from the water. Mosquito density varies in summer but take protection.

Plenty of good restaurants. Very good daily markets for fresh foods. Also lots of novelty shops. All facilities within easy walking distance. The Cathedral was a must visit place. A very clean city where where people seem to take pride in where they live.
