I loved everything about this hotel. When we first arrived we had lunch in the garden and it was amazing. The staff provided us with a lot of helpful information and took care of all of our needs. The breakfast was delicious. I would stay at this hotel again.

We had a wonderful family ski holiday here. The village of Montgenèvre is charming, with great skiing for all levels. We especially enjoyed the spa and swimming pool after a day on the slopes. The reception staff were welcoming, and the location was very convenient. Overall, a great stay!

The reason for stopping there in the first place were the Forts and the old city (Vauban) of Briancon. Given its a ski resort the town is not sure what it is. @ 1200m its a cocktail of different architectural styles with the old town the only remnant of any true genuine alpine feel. As the highest administrative town in France, abandoned by the military 15 years earlier and the boom of skiing in the 70/80's its a bit of a mess. Construction every creating apartment doubtless for the boom the 2030 Olympics. Unless traveling onto the Mongenevre you could miss the whole experience, however if going to Grenoble once past the Serre-Chevallier chalet compendium the road is a true joy up to the pass and beyond. Would I go there again yes the walking is fabulous and well worth the stopover.

Gap is a lovely place, but I would never - ever - recommend the Hôtel Restaurant Pavillon Carina to ANYONE. It is almost 4 weeks since they ruined our overnight stay there and we had to find emergency accommodation elsewhere. We are still waiting for full compensation and refund and neither they or Booking.com have been any help WHATSOEVER.

We were there for the winter walking, not skiing. We had a great time though some of the higher paths were closed for safety reasons which, given the fact that it snowed when we were there, is understandable. Tourist information offices in the area gave updates. Glad we did not buy a 6 day pass, opted for rechargeable day pass. Snow shoe rental was easy and they were very useful.

It is the best ski resort ever.

It is the best ski resort ever. We have been traveling to different ski resorts in Europe for the last 15 years and this place amazed us with slopes variety. The skiing was wonderful, we did not search for “good slope or best root” like we usually did on previous resorts because there are so many of them that could be called the best :). Thermal SPA is an excellent bonus!

The town itself is very small and well served. Quite but that might have been the time of the year. Good access and near good amenities. The ski runs are class but the off piste is what stands out. Lifts are good and restaurants although some very basic aren’t bad

Excellent when it isn't snowing, which it was most days this year. Walk over the pont d'Asfeld and explore the hills (take your crampons)! Watch out for dogshit along the footpaths in town. And the mairie doesn't clear snow from the pavements, forcing the many pedestrians to walk in the street. Cars registered 05 don't stop at pedestrian crossings. Good bus service. Try the restaurant Kilomètre 0 near the parc de la Schappe.

This village has quite a few decent restaurants, also cafes and creperies. There's a large public parking area. The hotel was close to everything. No need to use a car. We were there for 4 nights, which was just about right for us. The pistes are all mostly intermediate and blue runs. So fun for me as I like to ski just cruising along stopping at mountain restaurants. The restaurant at the top of the Aravet Gondola has a great menu and entertainment. And perfectly placed for those who partied too much and didn't want to ski down.

The people we met in the hotel and sports hire shop were friendly and helpful. The village itself is a very traditional looking French village, but like many of them has very few facilities. In the winter it gets no direct sunshine from mid-afternoon. The Nordic ski runs up the valley to Arsine are lovely and well looked after. The ski area at Arsine is quite lively and convivial, with people gathering there to rest and chat and go for a drink or meal after their skiing.
