GORGEOUS! Great owners… great coffee… peaceful and a perfect stay. The owners take pride in offering quality, top notch service and amenities. I couldn’t be happier after a nightmare we had the same day with two separate hotels. (One cancelled on us, and one didn’t even answer the door of the chateau to let us in even before check in tome was over). I was so incredibly happy to have found this place, even if it wasn’t planned… we felt so welcome and amazing at the loving atmosphere and hospitality of the owners. Their love of their property radiates from within and from every corner. Everything is well thought out and comfortable. Even the products offered for bathroom use was all natural. Just an exquisite stay and I’m very thankful for them as they answered the phone very late at night due to our unfortunate circumstance and welcomed us with open arms! The property is a must see! Highly recommended!

Agreeably impressed by Caen, which felt like a working city which appreciates its heritage assets and knows how to have a little fun, with pleasant bars and cafes. Certainly a good base for exploring wider Normandy, and well served by public transport and bike paths and routes. We were on a cycling trip and didn't make time to visit the several big Romanesque churches, but spent an hour wandering around William the Conqueror's massive castle one evening, which is certainly monumental. As is usually the case in France, the roads around Caen are excellent and access to the D-Day beaches, La Suisse Normande and other places of interest in the region even in peak season was easy.

Great community with a lots of restaurants.

Great community with a lots of restaurants. The town had areal nice charm to it. If you go outside of Bayeux to the WWII spots you will need a car. Parking is a challenge in the town, so the smaller your car the better. The train station is only about 1/2 mile away and the ride to Paris is not bad at all.

Reason for visiting Ouistreham was to use the car ferry, so little time spent in Ouistreham. However, we did look round the town and found it interesting - architecture (history interesting) and plenty of small shops and places to eat, but not any 'tacky' souvenir shops.

Arromanches was lovely and so were the surrounding areas. the beaches were great and the town itself was lovely. the people friendly and made a great effort to help tourists. It is an ideal starting point to tour all the war sites and the bus service from there was excellent. the only negative was that there was no entertainment at night and most places close around 9pm.

The port is lovely and what you would expect from a fishing village. plenty of restaurants, make sure to book as it can get very busy around 8pm. I would not return to the Marina restaurant, service was bad, very long wait over 1 hour for food and tried to charge me for wine I did not have. Car parking not a problem. Driving to to the D Day beaches easy and nearby make sure you have google maps for navigation.

This town is a perfect base to do the Normandy beaches, the museums and the Normandy countryside. Plenty of places to eat and quite a useful bus service along the coast. Not as touristy as some other places along the coast. Very near Point du Hoc, where the American Rangers stormed the coast. Well worth a visit but quite a walk although mostly flat and not much shelter on the way around. The museums in Vire Sur Mer and Omaha beach are interesting. The Calvados producer along that road is worth a visit as he has his own stories about the landings and the history of his property.

It's a beautiful place to visit in the day, shops, cafe, Museum, car parking, clean and also has a market on certain days. The town goes very quiet in the evenings, not many places stay open past 8pm. It's lovely that they place a dummy American parachutist on the church in memory on the actual event all those years ago.

Beautiful little town with lots of history . The people of the town were sooo friendly and although we spoke very limited French they really tried hard with their English. Went to Sword and Juno beaches and were humbled by the serene atmosphere and it was just a lovely place to sit and ponder the past.
