Everything, the staff made us feel really welcome and special throughout our stay - collection and drop off of bags/us (we chose to walk) from the boats set this tone from the start. The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts and food at the restaurant were consistently great, including the lobster caught right the other side of the window from our table!

Best location on St Marys, easy access to restaurants, shops and the Quay for off Island trips. Hotel has been tastefully modernized and what’s more remains in top decorative order since the redevelopment. Super friendly staff and a wonderful restaurant, the food here is second to none, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner at dinner and learnt about his farming of cattle rare breeds and the drive to create a positive, inclusive employe environment. Not many hotels are able to boast of such a rich farm to table offering.

The food was excellent - hadn't expected such high quality. The setting and grounds were really magical and memorable. A great holiday and we would love to return.

The apartment was bright and airy and had lovely views from the window. The shower and the bed were both excellent. The location is a fairly short walk from the town centre, which should be fine for most people.

Hugh Town is a good place to start a holiday in the Scillies It has everything you are likely to need, and is mercifully free of big supermarkets and fast food outlets. Pedestrians seem to have priority - a welcome change from the car-dominated mainland.

St Martins is one of the more unspoilt islands so if you are visiting it after Tresco be ready for the contrast. More people seem to live there with the cafes etc an additional income stream. We found everyone to be really friendly and would definitely recommend taking the time to explore the island in foot. Visiting the vineyard and talking to the owner was a particular highlight.

It is quiet with very few cars but plenty of little shops and some cafes selling interesting meals. The restaurants were quite expensive, The Atlantic was the best priced! The harbour being outside the hotel , so being able to go by boat to other islands was really good and we look forward to seal snorkelling in future.

We loved the little shops and pubs, the calmness of the Scilly Isles and the honesty of everything. Being in Hugh Town felt like going back in time to when shops didn't have to lock up expensive items and alcohol. Everyone in the shops was very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. We would love to visit again.
