One of 2,255 reviews:
"It was one of the best trips I've ever had! Trabzon is like heaven on earth, if anyone was to ask me where I'd recommend they go for their next trip I'd definitely say Trabzon, it gives you peace of mind and body seeing all the amazing nature, mountains full of trees, the see all around the city, and I admire the efforts put into making the streets so wide, smooth and clean, the traffic is so organised, the only thing I hated in the streets is how many junctions they have and how they get you lost sometimes, but you'll get used to it in a couple of days. I recommend renting a car, it gives you more flexibility and allows you to better enjoy your trips to attractions, bear in mind that you'll drive for long distances, the attractions are distant but they're definitely worth it. Food is amazing especially Kufte, their meat is delicious in general. I can say it's a trip with almost no issues at all, everything is absolutely perfect in Trabzon."

"Ayder Yaylası is an absolutely stunning destination and a perfect escape into nature. Surrounded by lush green mountains, misty forests, and flowing streams, it offers a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere that’s hard to find elsewhere. The scenery is breathtaking in every direction, with fresh air and beautiful landscapes that make it ideal for relaxing walks, photography, or simply unwinding away from busy city life. The famous hot springs add a special touch to the experience, allowing visitors to relax while enjoying the natural beauty of the region. There are also plenty of local restaurants and cafés where you can enjoy delicious traditional food, making the visit even more enjoyable. The combination of nature, comfort, and authentic culture creates a truly memorable experience. Overall, Ayder Yaylası is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and enjoy a peaceful, scenic getaway."

The staff demonstrated exceptional kindness and understanding toward multilingual guests. The remarkably affordable room offered breathtaking views, prompting us to consider extending our stay, though flight arrangements precluded this. The restaurant provided delicious food at reasonable prices, offering both dine-in and room service options. Furthermore, the hotel's tranquil location, removed from urban congestion, ensured a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The complimentary sauna and Turkish bath were a welcome amenity, and massage services were also available for an additional fee.

We had a wonderful stay at Ayder Doğa Resort Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure we felt comfortable and welcome throughout our visit. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of options to enjoy. Breakfast, in particular, was outstanding fresh, tasty, and the perfect way to start the day. The people was very kind, even though they don’t always speak English they try to help you with google translator. We had a very special anecdote: we were four persons traveling together and for any reason we get lost two of us, a lady notice that I was walking around the same place and notice that I was concerned and asked me what happen, and she managed to find them.

Ayder is very good destination in the area, very good nature views. you can have lot of activities on the way. Rafting, Zipline, Swings... but it's bit far from Trabzon City, it will take 2.5 hours to reach. and the downtown is crowded better to book to hotel bit far from there, because most of the hotels in the downtown they don't have entrance and car parking, you need to climb the hill and Vallet will take care of your car.

Rize is a beautiful place and quite spread out. Some of the places close to our accommodation were Ayder Plateau, that was simply mesmerizing. Rafting was 10mins away, safe and exciting. Uzongol lake and Sumela monastery were almost 2 hours from the accomodation (in separate directions ofcourse) but both are worth their charm and history.

Trabzon is a perfect destination for those who love quieter,...

Trabzon is a perfect destination for those who love quieter, more authentic places where you can get a glimpse into a real life of locals. The city is located in Karadeniz Region of Turkey and boasts a number of beautiful spots. First of all, visit the city Pazar (market) where you can shop for food, clothes, shoes etc, stop for a cup of tea or coffee, or enjoy a delicious Turkish meal. If you love fish, go to Roka Balik downtown, the food there is amazing. Trabzon is famous for its cheese, hazelnuts, and tea, so you can get all these things at great prices. Secondly, drive up the Boztepe Hill from where you can get the most beautiful view of Trabzon and the Black Sea. There are lots of cozy cafes there so a cup of tea from a traditional samovar is a bonus. Then walk down the narrow streets to the embankment, have dinner in one of the numerous restaurants and watch the sun disappear into the sea. If you love history, Trabzon is the place to be! Trabzon Castle, Hagia Sophia, old buildings - we saw and admired it all. I recommend moving around the town on foot as this will allow you to really feel the atmosphere of the place. Don't forget to visit Meydan - the main square of Trabzon with old trees, colourful flower beds, and classy cafes. We loved Kahve Duniasi - good coffee, delicious dondurma, and an endless row of sweets. Rent a car (preferably with a driver) and go on day trips to Sumela Monastery, Uzungol Lake, and Ayder Plato. Each trip was an adventure and we enjoyed every minute of it. So, to sum it all up, Trabzon is definitely worth visiting. Advice: not everyone speaks English in Trabzon, so a bit of Turkish will take you a long way!
