SwitzerlandThe situation is outstanding, set high above the Caribbean sea with a view over the luxuriant jungle and the delightfully kept gardens with mango, palm and other exotic plants and trees. At night the song of the frogs and birds lull one to sleep. Breakfast was good, as was the dinner we ordered. The massages were most relaxing, warmed by the last of the evening's sun as it set over the ocean. The host couple were friendly, helpful and efficient.

It’s quiet, huge area property with row of bungalows and other facilities we didn’t explore too well. Bungalow terraces facing north which is convenient on sunny days. Top luxury can be found at evening sunset view from the swimming pool.
Ludovic is a professional host who knows what is the hotel business about. This handsome man is polite, patient, understanding, and shares his knowledge about the island. We have had a metal screw found in the car tyre. He guided us to the garage for fixing the problem driving his own car - we just followed him. He made it without any hesitation and free of charge. It’s a real release for us

What an amazing place, sad that our plane got cancelled and we stayed only one day instead of the three we had initially planned. But nevertheless the staff was incredibly nice, waited for us at night to give us a welcome and help us getting set-up. The place is absolutely beautiful, waking up in the morning with the sun rising over the ocean was absolutely stunning. We also got the breakfast that morning and loved it!
If we ever come back to Guadeloupe we'll for sure stay again :)

A nice and clean unit in a well maintained and quiet complex. We had a nice balcony, which included the kitchenette, from where we could see the sea enjoying breakfast and dinner.
The complex is a few minutes drive from Perl Beach and less than 10 min drive from Deshaies.
The personnel serving the complex were very friendly and hopeful on our questions.
Definitely we would like to go back.

The location of Fort Royal is exceptional, unique. The beaches adjacent to the hotel are pristine and incredibly beautiful. Perhaps among the best on the island. The staff is friendly, fun, diverse. The breakfast and dinner are excellent. Cocktails are wonderful. Price is frankly reasonable.

Charming house, very comfortable bed, delicious.breakfast, and very sweet owners who were very accommodating to my trip delay. Close to the amazing wild beaches this side of the island and to the town of St Rose for food. You will want a car.

The views are AMAZING!
The views are AMAZING! The host was very warm, responsive and helpful with giving suggestions to near by resturants & grocery stores. This stay was peaceful & quite. I over shot the entrance to the property & think the sign could be bigger. I highly recommend Karribbean Lodge! Especially for the solo traveler.

Calm, relaxed area.
Calm, relaxed area. Away from all of the pressure of the touristy places or the city. A nice place to unwind and, when desired, well situated to go exploring the west side of the island. You'll need a car and driving around is like playing Mario Kart with the steep and curvy roads. There are many things to see or do within 30 minutes drive or less. A chocolate museum with tastings, a coffee museum, hiking around the neighborhood or up to the volcano or various waterfalls, snorkeling and swimming at the local beaches or scuba diving at the Cousteau reserve and relaxing in the natural hotsprings, of course. And if you are into sunsets, this is a great place for you.

A wonderful stay in a truly Caribbean idyllic style. A perfect place to relax and explore the surrounding beautiful beaches, botanical garden, wonderful ZOO, cocoa plantation. Shops nearby. Boat rental nearby. Great for fans of "HONORE POLICE". A car indispensable.

The property is central and ideally suited for a stay of a week. We stayed for 2 weeks which was still comfortable. You need a car as public transportation is not available. The property is located close to a main highway and within a few minutes of a major shopping mall. This makes it easy to get food as well as other necessities. It is a good base from which to visit both sides of the island. I recommend this property.

It has the harbour to go to Les Saintes - super pretty with great restaurants; local town had limited evening restaurants but the accommodation allowed to make our own simple evening meals on site
On Les Saintes you need to book golf buggy carts for a family, e-bikes etc to get around; also book your midday meal as soon as you arrive
Ideally you need a hire car for longer trips - it is hillly

Relaxed locale, beautiful flora and fauna. Several good restaurants in town as well as Grande Anse beach. Jardin Botanical was amazing, most beautiful we have seen in many travels throughout the Caribbean. The road system along the coast is very serpentine like, takes more time than expected to get to places south toward Trois Riveries.

I could stay there forever.
I could stay there forever. You have the great sea life reserve Cousteau, hot baths (in the sea) in Bouillante, natural park just in 10 minutes by car.
The disadvantage is that in the area there are not too many quality restaurants or shops. If you are looking for that you need to head in the direction of Grand Terre.

The position of the property was perfect for us.
The position of the property was perfect for us. Close to Deshaies with the film locations of 'Death in paradise'. A variety of beaches from quiet to lively and in St Rose you can do kayaking and boat trips. It is only a short drive to the botanical gardens and an easy drive to the zoo and scuba diving from Bouillante

Baia Mahault was good for supermarkets, a lovely commercial centre, and plenty of patisseries available. Not to near to any beaches though. You definitely need a car.
We went to the zoo, and the botanical gardens in Deshaie, definitely worth a visit. The best beaches are also in and around Deshaie.

Deshaies is perfectly located for exploring the beaches, boating, and rain forest of Basse-Terre. The town itself is full of restaurants and retail shops, but you do not feel overrun with tourists. The downside is the paid parking. There's plenty of it, but the kiosks do not operate very well. We had to walk around to find enough signal to actually use there system for paying.
