The room was modern, spotless, and very comfortable. The location is perfect ! the beach, the Old Town, restaurants, shops, and supermarkets are all within walking distance. Still a Wonder

Wonderful Rhodes has amazing beaches, nightlife and history. Its capital – Rhodes Town – once boasted the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.

Although sadly no trace of it exists in the harbour, its Old Town is still UNESCO World Heritage listed. This is because of the magnificent Palace of the Grand Master, a 14th-century castle once home to the Knights Hospitaller.

Just around the coast is Faliraki, the nightlife hotspot with clubs, bars and restaurants galore. Afantou and Kolymbia to the south have long, golden beaches, but the island’s crowning glory has to be Lindos. If you arrive by sea, you could be forgiven for thinking that you’ve reached paradise.

Home to some of the best Rhodes hotels, Lindos is a picture-perfect town with whitewashed houses hugging the sides of a hill that is topped with remains of an acropolis. On the other side of the hill is St Paul’s Bay where the apostle’s boat reportedly ran aground.

Lardos and Kiotari further south have a good range of Rhodes hotels by the beach available on Booking.com, while on the other side of the island Kremasti and neighbouring Trianda (also known as Ialysos) have a good range of watersports and quick transfers from Rhodes Airport.

We truly enjoyed this hotel. All the staff were professional, attentive and hospitable, and the room was beautiful, well-equipped, well-maintained and soundproof. This was a working vacation, so we were glad for the ample desk, good reading lamps and stable Internet. Watching the sunrise from the balcony was a real treat. The breakfast included everything one could desire. The beach facilities, right across the street, were a bit shabby, but that was not the hotel’s domain. For evening sun, it’s a very short walk around the tip of the island. We would gladly stay at the Mediterranean Hotel again.

The old town is beautiful and romantic. I was not satisfied with the local bus service, waiting at the bus stop for even 45 minutes is unpleasant. Getting a taxi outside the taxi station is a test of nerves and impossible.

Faliraki is a great base for Rhodes Island.

Faliraki is a great base for Rhodes Island. There is lots of restaurants and bars in the area. The beaches have a dark sand which is not as nice as Spain or Portugal but still Blue Flag and totally fine.There is lots of boat trips to do. We done a 3 hour snorkel which takes you out to Bays and coves with caves. Its worth getting a taxi to Anthony Quinn and swim there. On the far side of the bay there is a guy who makes cocktails, we had a great day there. I would also recommend a trip to Simi Island for the day, it would have been great to stay the night here. It is about 20 minutes in a taxi to Rhodes Old Town which is a must to see. Lindos town and the acropolis is about a 50 minute local bus journey and lindos is a lovey white wash of houses narrow streets and restaurants build into the side of the hills. Faliraki also has a great water park close by, and all the usual water sport activities.

Lindos is the perfect place to stay when visiting Rhodes. Rhodes Town feels much more touristy and, in my opinion, has fewer areas where you can experience that truly authentic Greek atmosphere. Lindos, on the other hand, is absolutely magical. Its narrow, winding streets form a little maze of traditional whitewashed houses, surrounded by crystal-clear blue sea and beautiful beaches. Everything is within walking distance, and there are plenty of great restaurants and places to eat. The main streets can get quite busy and crowded, but as soon as you wander into the smaller side streets, you’ll discover a completely different side of Lindos, with a much more authentic Greek atmosphere. Getting lost in these little streets was actually one of my favourite parts of staying there.

Quiet location, very safe area, everyone very friendly and helpful. Pebbly beach, need your jelly shoes. Great place for windsurfing, saw many taking part. Great little shops and restaurants a stroll away and very reasonably priced. Can highly recommend the Cake Box for great coffee, cakes, filled rolls and also Marias Taverna for very good home made meals and snacks. Lalyssos not too far from Rhodes Town.

The locals are fantastic.

The locals are fantastic. They love cats, and the cats know it. When you go to a restaurant, try the local dishes and ask the waiter for advice on dining customs (e.g., Greek sausage with ouzo is a culinary delight). Because of the wind, you don’t feel the sun’s heat, so it’s very easy to get sunburned on the beach. Enjoy every minute of this paradise on earth.

Kolimbia is a small tourist village.

Kolimbia is a small tourist village. There are many restaurants catering for all types of cuisines and a lot of shops. It is clean and people are friendly. The beaches are a very short walk from the centre. I would recommend hiring a car to visit other parts of the island. Taxis are very expensive.

Lots of restaurants and bars. Quite after 12pm. Most people hang out around the hotel during the day. Beach is ok but the price of sun beds was eye watering. Not much room to sunbathe as the sun beds take up most of the space. There’s better beaches in the town further up towards Rhodes town.

Here lives the real local persons. There are not so many tourists and bars only for them. Fantastic family restaurant called To Steki, serving local dishes (note: the large selection is only available between 12:00 and 16:00; after that, everything is sold out to local customers). For those who enjoy a local evening atmosphere among locals rather than tourists, I recommend Taverne Manolis Mavrios. And the Θεϊκές Γεύσεις pastry shop – delicious. The nearest beaches Stegna and Agathi, are not crowded as the beautiful, but crowded, Tsampika Beach.

All staff amazing except the pool service bar.

All staff amazing except the pool service bar. Not attentive enough, had to go for drinks myself to be told we will come to you then it took at least half an hour! One of the lunches that I ordered eventually turned up and was completely cold, the guy shrugged his shoulders and said it was the kitchens fault! Shame really, the rest of the place and the staff were really good. The on-site restaurants are amazing.

Kiotari has the best beaches in Rhodes.

Kiotari has the best beaches in Rhodes. The location of Mitsis Hotel is perfect. The food is excellent and rich. Getting to Kiotari is about one hour from the airport if by taxi or renting a car. You should take a car for one day to visit the old city of Rhodes.
