"It was recommended to us that we stay outside of San Juan for the beaches and snorkeling at the islands but the transportation hub in San Juan is fantastic to book taxis, water taxis, short airplane hops to islands."

"Yenny, Our butler was extremely helpful. Very nice. She booked dinner reservations for us and offered many suggestions. All the staff that we encountered were extremely pleasant. My only complaint would be the Wi-Fi which was spotty, and since we were expected to use our telephones for many things, I recommend they work on the Wi-Fi being a little more available."

"The beaches are always the main reason. I love the little town lifestyle. Just going around enjoying the litle pleasure of life. The food is always good there and there is always a bar around the corner. Life just slows down overthere. Hearing people speak French all around is soothing for me. It's the perfect carribean life for me."

"I love Santiago. Anyone who visits Santiago, should get out ant see the city. The mall is small, but very nice. You can sit in the food court, and there are a lot of restaurants to choose from. The Monument is a nice area to visit, and there are a lot of stores in the City center. If you visit Santiago, get out and see the city."

"Favorite spots to eat were Three Dives (jerk), Pushcart, and Best In The West (jerk). We got around by taxi - just ask at the hotel desk and they can easily arrange it for you. Traffic patterns are very different than in the US, so I don't recommend driving. We truly enjoyed snorkeling at the West End and saw a lot of variety. On Seven Mile Beach, we enjoyed walking along the beach and stopping in all the tiny bars for Red Stripes or Dirty Bananas. The late-night live music at Roots Bamboo and Woodstock were also really fun!"

Ponce

Unique Architecture, Museums & Galleries, Historical Landmarks

One of 425 reviews:
"In past visits we did a great deal of sightseeing, but much less on this trip. We mainly walked around Ponce, enjoying the various types of architecture, visited local parks, especially the Parque de Bombas, the Art Museum, much of which was closed for renovation following hurricane. Sites we recommend for others include the Museum of Musical Instruments, the Art Museum, which will probably be fully open within the year. Other places we have enjoyed on past trips were a coffee plantation, the Castillo Serralles, the Tibes indigenous ceremonial site, and La Cruz del Vigia, which provides a grand view of the southern part of the island and the Caribbean. Another place we have visited in the past was El Jonque, the national park and tropical rain forest, which lies on the road between the airport in San Juan and Ponce. We will undoubtedly visit Ponce again, since it is less busy than San Juan."

Amazing view. Very helpful owners who even helped us plan our itinerary. The owners have done a fantastic job decorating the property and have amazing taste. Breakfast was amazing, we got French and Dominican breakfast. The owners had to migrate from Haiti because of gang violence, just wish we could support them more

I've been a regular customer since the beginning and seeing that it's still the same but constantly improving in every way make me realize the management and personnel has done a fantastic job. This hotel and green areas are gorgeous; the pool area is absolutely beautiful, and the room was very comfortable with a jacuzzi and shower and a balcony overlooking the sea. Congratulations and best wishes for continued success. I will definitely keep coming back, whether as a couple or with the family.

Lovely hotel with beach views. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. On site bar, restaurant looking out at the ocean. Friendly staff. On site secure parking . Really nice place 👌 I would stay more often if it was a little less expensive maybe on weekdays or certain seasons it could be less expensive for example if it isn't in high demand. I know it's a hotel not bnb but I feel 120/ night is more average especially as breakfast isn't free

This time a year the entire east coast and that is Punta Cana is suffering from a lot of sargassum sea weed. It tunrs the water from blue to brown and stinks. So try to find a place that is on the opposite side (west) or hidden enough that the weed cant enter. Otherwise you wont swim in turqise water! Avoid to drink water, raw food etc. I got very sick from a Margharita at the Bar.

San Juan is a beautiful city but inflating has soared as high as Hawaii. There are too many vendors trying to sell you stuff at overpriced. For example a pina colada from a street vendor costs 22 dollars, plus tip, plus tax (11%). Ridiculous for a place that produces pineapples.

The hip strip was a strip of roadway that is very accommodating to tourists. Anything you need would be offered. We love how Montego Bay is not a far drive to the international airport. The famous Doctors Cave Beach was such a beautiful beach that one could stay all day there. And we were blessed to have a lovely driver take us to the KFC in Montego Bay that I must say, that thier chicken tastes better than other KFC’s we have had in Europe, North America, or in South America.

Puerto Plata is a beautiful place overall, and I actually had a really good time—just not at the place I stayed. What I liked: The people were great—friendly, welcoming, and full of good energy I had a lot of fun exploring outside, enjoying the city, beaches, and local spots The culture, music, and vibe make it a place you can truly enjoy What I didn’t like: My accommodation was terrible, which affected part of the experience Some places can be hit or miss, so where you stay really matters Overall: Even though my stay at the property was bad, Puerto Plata itself was a great experience. The people and the environment made up for it. I would definitely come back—but next time, I’ll choose a better place to stay. Tip: Do your research on accommodations. The location is amazing, but your stay can make or break the experience

A relaxed beach town, and major step-off point for trips to Saona Island. The place is buzzing at the start and end of the day when island trips depart and return, but otherwise it's relaxed and friendly. Plenty of places to eat and drink at night. Overall, far more liberty to wander and take trips than if you're stuck at a resort :-)

I love how lively Ocho Rios is.

I love how lively Ocho Rios is. I think it's very central to most activities and is still authentic in a way where most tourist destinations try to hard to impress foreigners and end up washing out the culture. Everyone was very nice and approachable and offered help where they could. They're very laid back and nothing seems to bother them. The vibe was 10/10. There's something there to do for every age group. Food is next level, including their fast food restaurants. Places that I don't eat at home, tasted like a new world in Jamaica. KFC, Burger King and Pizza Hut were a nice treat for my kids when they wanted something familiar towards the end of their two week stay and having had only local food and snacks majority of the trip. Great for families but would probably be cool for a solo trip as well.

Although I have lived in the DR for 15 years, I had inexplicably never visited Las Terrenas, just a drive-thru once to pick up restaurant equipment for a friend. LT is just fantastic. Although the streets and restaurants are busy, the beaches are so wide open and spacious and provide a feeling of the way the DR used to be.
