The property is as described, an Airbnb in the heart of Sagana town which was really a perfect location during my stay. They are 3 separate rooms and an outside bathroom and toilet (Not a 3 bedroom). You get the entire place to yourself as they take one booking per stay). The kitchen is very functional and was happy to make myself some breakfast (self-catering property). The property is clean, secure, and the streetcar parking was very safe. The Owner Winnie and Ciku the staff on site are really hospitable and helpful. I highly recommend the place.

Where do I start. Driving to the hotel can be very daunting unless you have someone to take you, or you arrange a pickup. It is a fair distance from the local town and can be expensive with the local taxis, but later I can see why. However, there is a Local car Matatu service that cost around 300 shillings per person, that takes around forty minutes, the driver seams to know everyone and stops for on route chat with tje locals. The drive is ruff road not tarmac, but givem wjere tje hotel is, is understandable. The owner is very happy to get one of those drivers to meet you at a location in the town, ie outside Family Bank. Once you eventually get to tje hotel your see its all worth the trip. How they managed to buid this hotel up in the middle of knowwhere beggars believe. The weather is different there and can rain alot, but the sun soon pops out randomly here and there, and can rain without warning, it gets hot as well. The staff at the hotel were fantastic, and tea and coffee was awaiting our arrival along with a cosy wooden lit fireplace along.with our dinner when we wanted it. We arrived late and it was dark. We were led to our rooms and asked for an extra duvet as it was a little chilly being so high up. The room was adequate with a electric shower and comfortable bed. The morning was raining very hard. But cleared up to reveal a stunning view from our balcony . I just could not stop looking at it. the tea farmers were busy collecteing the leaves. Breakfast was anything that we required from omelette/ sausage /toast to fresh fruit. There were plenty of local tours available at a very reasonable price. Our tour guide come security guard was only too eager to take us anywhere we wanted to go. From fly fishing trout on the local river, to the famous Abadare Forrest. Or a local tea plantation tour, even if we wanted to visit the famous tree tops.

Quiet environment ideal for a family like my case.

Quiet environment ideal for a family like my case. Excellent breakfast. However maintenance of the facility requires serious attention. I was particularly concerned with lack of mosquito management even a net yet the facility has too many stagnant water bodies. I was also disappointed by a watchman knocking our door at 1am looking for an employee who he claimed was staying in the cottage but seemed not to know where..could they not call him? But otherwise I would still recommend the facility hoping management will action

Murang’a Town is the headquarter of Murang’a County, 85 km...

Murang’a Town is the headquarter of Murang’a County, 85 km from Nairobi at 1,868m elevation. Formerly “Fort Hall,” it’s now the county’s administrative and business hub with County HQ, Level 5 Hospital, banks, and hotels like The Dalton Grand, Nokras etc. The town is walkable, clean, and surrounded by tea hills, with cool weather and Aberdare views. Convenience - Everything central: banks, markets, County HQ within 0.8 km. Dalton Grand’s rooftop offers “majestic” town views. Efficiency - Parking, markets, hospital fully automated; fast county services. Vibe - Relaxed small-town feel with strong Kikuyu culture, safe to walk Limited nightlife - Quieter evenings vs Nairobi; few late-night spots beyond Klub Sharks Hilly terrain - Steep walks if staying uphill; boda fares add up Basic amenities - Smaller supermarkets; you’d travel to Thika/Kenol for malls
