United StatesIF you're on the fence about staying outside of town, don't be, the coffee farm is well worth the tuk tuk, and I didn't feel there was much to see in Sen Monorom itself as a town. Words don't really do the tree of life/pool view justice, and there was a lot of bird life to observe off the back deck of our dorm. We stayed in the dorm. When we were there, there was only one other person in it. It's roomy and clean, there were 3 large wooden bunk beds. We bought some coffee before leaving and have been enjoying it daily back in the US, the coffee tour was interesting too, we got to walk around the property and learned all about growing coffee in Cambodia. the desk staff set up our elephant experience for us with a local Bunong guide named Cham, who was the highlight of our trip.

The rooms are excellent, and the pool and hotel grounds are absolutely gorgeous, clean, and peaceful. The food was incredibly delicious, and they even prepared special meals for us upon request! Elephants, Gibbons, waterfalls, market.
Elephants, Gibbons, waterfalls, market. That's what you have at Sen Monorom. Five hours away is Kratie, if you want to visit the Mekong Dolphins via boat tour or kayak. There's also temples and waterfalls.

It is essentially double priced to PP for less quality and variety. If you've never seen coffee bean trees or elephants I guess it worth the trip. The elephant thing a bit of a scam. They rescuing elephants that don't need rescuing?

Little town with an atmosphere, it was difficult to leave!
The wildlife around is thriving and we totally recommend trekking and visiting the animal conservation projets around.
There are e few good restaurants around like the hangout at which we ate 4 times, with a very welcoming lady.

We felt great from the moment we arrived and for the entire four days – we couldn't have hoped for better. Secluded from the city but not far away, a superb bungalow in the mountains, peaceful, with birdsong, scooter rental, restaurant, bar, laundry – Cool !

Loved our stay at the Nature Lodge where we ate great food...
Loved our stay at the Nature Lodge where we ate great food at the onsite restaurant. We had one full day trip sightseeing around Sen Monorom and surrounds where we went to a local Coffee Plantation for lunch which was higher in price for food (close to Australian prices) but very delicious, walked through local farms, Bou Sra Eco Park where we saw Bou Sra waterfall which I would recommend, the Sea Forest Lookout was a fun way to watch the sunset while taking cheesy touristy photos, and Sunset Hill/Phnom Do Kramom which gave us a beautiful panorama of Sen Monorom. A highlight of my entire Cambodian trip was the 2-Day jungle trek with the Mondulkiri Project which I would 100% recommend as an ethical ecotourism project which gives back directly to land conservation, supporting a local Indigenous village and the rescue and safe keeping of elephants which have been removed from previously unethical working backgrounds which endangered them. The town had everything we needed when visiting but didn't spend much time around the markets or town centre to be able to comment. Very easy to get a tuk tuk to get around and buses travel to and from major towns and cities daily.
