We were going to go to Paris but due to the amount of people that were going to be in Paris for Bastille day we changed our plans at the last minute. I am so happy we did! The staff were wonderful, the room was beautiful, the place filled us with such peace and joy. The breakfast every day was exceptional and well attended. I cant speak highly enough about this wonderful resort. I thank everyone of the staff that work there for making our anniversary so amazing!!!

The camping experience was quite interesting, it was my first time and I didn't get disappointed. There is all you need inside the tent (electricity, light, kettle, coffe machine, cuttlery and dishes) and it's quite comfy. It got a bit cold at night but thanks to the heating we survived.

This was the high light of our trip. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. Wonderful location surrounded by nature and only half an hour walk to Echternach. Paul was very friendly and helpful and always there in case we had any questions. The apartment itself was also very spacious, had all the necessary amenities and was very clean. The beds and bedding was also very nice and comfy.

Echternach, if not the entire t of Luxembourg, is an...
Echternach, if not the entire t of Luxembourg, is an underrated gem. Being English we barely heard a single country person and you are really missing out! If you love the outdoors I couldn't think of a better place to come. Public transport is entirely free and very easy to navigate with the brilliant app mobiliteit.lu. We went on trains, buses and trams entirely free the whole time. It is very easy to set off from Echternach on a bus then walk all the way back, or just do a loop then return back to base. The Mullerthal trail app again is really helpful to find out what walks are in each area - app.mullerthal.lu. But you could just walk directly from Echternach and our youth hostel.
The Hostel was set on the lake. There was a climbing wall, bike hire, walks and swimming lakeside. A huge adventure playground with toilets, a Roman villa, a great restaurant - all within minutes. Two supermarkets, one close to the lake and the other in the town gave plentiful options for food. The town is very attractive and has a long pedestrian street with outstanding restaurants (if you love Sushi go to Wangs, it was out of this world).
It's a simple hour trip from Luxembourg city so could be done in a day but that wouldn't do it justice. You could also get to Trier in Germany (amazing city!) in about 45 minutes if a city trip was your thing. You should go!

Berdorf is my favorite go-to location if I wanna go on a hiking weekend. It's about a three hour drive from where I live, so very doable for a weekendtrip. The entire Echternach region in beautiful (check out the Mullerthal Trail), but the region around Berdorf is especially beautiful. The forests around Berdorf all have those typical rock formations with stairs and ladders, little chasms etc that really make it so much more interesting than a normal forest hike. The town itself is very small and is really just meant to spend the night in between two days of heavy hiking.

On our cycling trip through Luxembourg we found this gem of a place to stay, a short distance from Echternach, which was one of our destinations.
We had a nice, quiet stay in this beautiful quaint place. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and her English really good, so communication was easy.
The food at the restaurant was delicious, truly a great dining experience. Having a drink in the beautiful adjacent garden was a pleasure as well, after a long day's ride. All-in-all a wonderful place I'd advice to anyone.

The paths are perfectly sign-posted and there are so many to choose from. Easy to get around, and having free public transport makes it even easier to get around.

Beautiful gem in Luxemburg.
Beautiful gem in Luxemburg. Tiny, narrow streets of old town are astonishing. Colorful, clean, plenty of flowers. A place to enjoy. Parking is free from 6pm to 8 pm. Supermarket Cactus in walking distance from the old town.
