The lodge has a great vibe! Very private (the Villas)
Especially the beach front is ideal for young kids to swim as there's an old reef wave breaker so the first 30 meters are without huge waves and at low tide this creates a nice warm sea-pool kind of water to play in.
There's a Good restaurant. We've read reviews about waiting time and quality but the 3 times we ate there the food was very tasty and service was prime. Very nice beach vibe. Kids loved it.
Will definitely return!

This stay was absolutely incredible. The housekeeper was so nice and easy to communicate with. She welcomed us with her infectious smile and took such great care of us. The place was extremely clean and the aircon and wifi were phenomenal. 10/10 recommend, cannot wait to stay here again soon!

Xai-Xai is a very small pretty run down place with really nothing to do so you're certainly not going there to see the main strip if there even is one. The first place we stayed at (as our first stop over driving north) was really wonderful, called Zona Braza. It was truly a hidden gem and I would definitely recommend staying for at least a few nights. Unfortunately we booked at a different place (Go Wild Beach Resort) as a stop over on the drive back to South Africa which after the lovely Zona Braza was very disappointing. The pics I uploaded were all from Zona Braza. Go Wild just didn't warrant taking any pics.
If you're planning a longer trip, look beyond Xai-Xai and explore the whole country!
