Quiet and easy to access all parts of town. I came for a business trip and all of my clients knew the spot and were more than happy to have business dinners on site. Restaurant is excellent, staff is amazing. I saw the other properties I was considering while driving around town and was not impressed and am glad I chose Hotel Thule.

My last stays at other hotels in Africa, the speeds were hit or miss; most often slow with disconnects. I gave up on downloading episodes from Netflix for flights. Here, I downloaded 3 in the time I would still be waiting for 1 elsewhere. This was a 'holiday' trip, no Zoom meetings; however, based on the speed, I'm sure the wifi here can easily handle those. 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 Excellent location for long or short stays. Great for Digital Nomads! I was so impressed with the 1 night stay before my tour that I'm looking forward to my return stay in a few days. So glad I booked here instead of the more costly international brand hotel I was considering. 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗗... • Fresh and modern interiors, very well designed. • Pristinely clean. Very comfortable bed with soft linen. • Nice lightly fragrant toiletries. • Excellent gracious and attentive service. Elizabeth (manager during my stay) was so nice. She delivered a tasty breakfast-to-go the night before I left for my tour early the next morning. • Very generous and varied coffee/tea service in the room. • Restaurant on premise. • 20 min easily walk to a shopping center for groceries, etc. • Although Windhoek is one of the safest cities in Africa, here they add extra security with a 24 hour guard and gated perimeter fence. • HUGE shower, toiletries fresh pleasant scent, nice sized towels • Mini-refrigerator in a cabinet with a separate shelf above the fridge for dry goods. Nice not to have my groceries in view. • Bedside outlets; look under the 'wall floated' night stand. • Very quiet neighborhood, peaceful sleep with no street noise. • Clean, well-managed and maintained property. • The furnishings are nice. • Excellent air conditioning.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Windhoek from April 11th to April 13th, and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with exceptional service that set the tone for an unforgettable stay. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure every need was met with a smile. The facilities were top-notch, and the ambiance was both welcoming and relaxing. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and offered a perfect blend of comfort and style, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring Windhoek. But what truly stood out was the food. The meals were nothing short of spectacular! Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, each dish was a delightful culinary experience—flavorful, fresh, and prepared with the highest standards. The Hilton Garden Inn truly exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return. If you’re in Windhoek and looking for a place to stay, this is the place!

We stayed in a Premier Villa and it was huge! Three big bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, plus an upstairs with a big table and a patio where we could watch birds and the occasional mammal. The food was great, huge portions or big buffet. It’s on a part of the game reserve with no dangerous animals so you can walk around safely. We saw ostriches, antelopes, hyrax and hare while walking or looking out our window. It’s part of a nonprofit that’s working to preserve and protect animals while working with the local community. We did the “Behind the scenes tour” which was really interesting and fun, loved the baboon walk! Really glad we stayed here!

I loved everything about my 1-week stay at the River Crossing Lodge! My chalet room was large and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom and shower overlooked one of the canyons of the game reserve, and the water pressure and temperature were excellent. The food selections offered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner were excellent, especially the dinners. The dinner meals were perfectly prepared and always delicious! The staff at the lodge were uniformly friendly and 100% professional. They are world class in terms of hospitality service. I suffered a back problem during my stay, on New Year's Day of all days, and they recommended a pharmacy in Windhoek that I could visit to pick up some pain patches and pain relievers. The location is perfect, as it is located about 37 km from Hosea Katako International Airport and you can arrange a shuttle from or to the airport for not too much cost (I hired my own car). It is also located close to downtown Windhoek, making it easy to drive into the city to pick up snacks and supplies if needed. But one of the best things I enjoyed about staying at this lodge is the proximity to the Avis Dam Nature Reserve. I went hiking there nearly everyday, where you have the opportunity to see lots of native birds (lesser flamingos, hamerkop) and other wildlife (baboons, rock hyraxes, various antelope). The River Crossing Lodge is its own game reserve, with game drives and guided walks, but the convenience of the Avis Dam Nature Reserve made it a great destination. I would definitely stay at the River Crossing Lodge again and highly recommend it.

The pool at the mercure was really nice and maintained well. All the staff were really friendly and the pizza from the pizza oven at the restaurant at Safari court were really nice, reasonably priced. The food was also delicious that we had poolside too. Rooms were comfy and a large size. Love there was full length mirrors. We returned here after our safari as we enjoyed it. The staff, Ronaldo and the lady whose daughter is called blessing, sorry can’t remember her name, both staff were lovely and a real credit to the restaurant. Ronaldo had an incredible memory.

This is a beautiful property outside of Windhoek and a great place to stay if being in the city doesn’t capture your interest. The staff, especially in the restaurant, are wonderful, and the chalets are really beautiful, with comfortable beds, lots of pillows, a spacious shower, and a cool vibe. There are two hikes you can do affording you the chance to see some animals if you are lucky - I saw some giraffe and a herd of wildebeest. Animals can be found on the property too, particularly at night.

The plugs in the room were well positioned for working and overnight device charging. The bathroom was clean and offered both a clean, well-maintained bathtub and shower. The gym was great! Breakfast had an expansive selection and the was taken in a lovely high-ceiling dining area with lots of natural light. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Undercover parking is available for hotel guests. Excellent housekeeping and the turndown service was a pleasant surprise.

I was in the city for two weeks for work.

I was in the city for two weeks for work. Overall, I can say it's a safe city. However, public transportation is weak, and if you plan to explore on foot, you should choose your accommodation accordingly. There are large shopping malls with various shops, but they don't offer unique products, and prices are expensive. I wouldn't recommend it for shopping. There are very good restaurants serving steak. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the meat. Apart from that, in terms of gastronomic tourism, there are street food options, especially in the Katutura area. However, the number of options is limited. There are limited opportunities for cultural tourism. The Independence Museum should definitely be visited in half a day. The museum next door is under renovation. The National Museum is closed. The Art Museum will open in August. A short time is sufficient for cultural tourism. In my opinion, the most striking element in the city is the architecture. Windhoek's architecture displays a multifaceted history, spanning from the German colonial era to South African rule, from the apartheid years to post-independence monumental buildings, and to contemporary glass-fronted corporate architecture. Services and amenities in the city are incredibly slow. It's maddeningly slow. You wait more than half an hour for your food. Markets, shops, public transportation – everything is extremely slow. Nightlife is practically non-existent, especially during weekdays.

I didn't get a chance to tour the city as I was heavily engaged at the workshop. However, I liked the ambiance, and it had a beautiful slow pace, which is similar to my city of residence, Bulawayo. The cdity is clean and beautiful. The next i will schedule a longer stay.

Great city with some attractions in the city center. Many supermarkets and hiking shops. I was quite happy with the availability of items and choices in the superspar and CYMOT shops. Prices for food , gasoline and hiking gear are on the higher side, however.
